About Port Royal Condominiums
Port Royal Condominiums is an older building located in a prime area, undergoing extensive renovations to modernize its appearance and amenities. The building's management has been praised for their commitment to improving the property, with ongoing projects including new paint, lighting, and carpeting in the hallways, as well as a full renovation of the lobby. The building's highlight is its rooftop, which offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding area and is an excellent spot to enjoy fireworks. While the building may not be as competitive as newly constructed apartments in the area, it offers a more affordable option for homeowners who want to live in the desirable Old Town location. The condos are spacious, and many owners have invested in renovating their own units. However, the rental properties are described as outdated and overpriced, with some landlords being perceived as "rude and greedy" by raising rents to cover the cost of the building's renovations. Overall, Port Royal Condominiums is a building with a lot of potential, especially for homeowners who are willing to overlook the ongoing construction and the slower, quieter vibe of the predominantly older resident population.

Terrible dark place on the fourth floor. However, I moved upstairs to a one bedroom. Bright lovely clean place and landlord is responsive. Neighbors are great. I’m looking to purchase in the building. So, for renters be wary of your landlord. For buyers it is an amazing deal for the area.
It's an older building, but they are doing major renovations, which should be completed later in 2025. If you don't mind living in a smaller space but do want to live within walking distance of everything you need in a beautiful area it's a great affordable place to live.
Ive lived here for 8 yrs. Yes, it is an older building; however, the new management has been doing an amazing job with exterior and interior renovations. The garage project just ended. New paint, lighting, and carpet are going up in all the hallways. Exterior is halfway done being repaired and painted. The lobby is also getting a full reno. I would estimate by late 2025 its going to look like a new building and be competitive with the newly built buildings around which cost an arm and a leg. The highlight is the rooftop. 360 view of the DMV, and no better place to see fireworks. Of course the location is unbeatable. The high rent complaints are baffling to me because...read full review
