Kyung is my stylist and the owner of the shop. She will actively listen to what you have in mind and tailor her talents to make it happen. Not your basic “same color job for all” experience. She’s very talented.

Let me start by saying that I typically go out of my way to rate well and encourage, but this experience needs to be expressed in disappointmentdetail.I was able to get an appointment the same day, so there's that.I specifically asked if the hairdresser of 50 plus years had experience with naturally curly spirals, to which she said, "Yes." However, in the end, it was crystal clear she did not. Unfortunately, the highlights were quite mismatched, a lot more on one side than the other, and two rather large clumps of dye were placed on either side of the crown of my head as if to utilize the last bit of dye.Before beginning, I made it clear that I did NOT want her to blow dry my hair because it tends to frizz to epic proportions; at the end, she proceeded to do so anyway, briefly, so SHE could see how the dye job turned out. She was literally going to send me out looking like one of the witches in Macbeth! I was horrified!I gave a 2 rating because the cut she gave after the dye job was pretty good, and she removed some dead ends.Perhaps sticking to dying elderly, straight haired people's hair would work best.Lastly, yes, not only did I pay for the procedures of which she up charged at the last minute compared to the price she provided when I made the appointment, but I also left a generous tip for her attempted efforts, despite many who saw the results afterward thought I shouldn't have.

I moved to this area a few years ago, and I struggled to find a trustworthy, friendly place to take care of my beauty needs. But when I found La Petite, and specially when I met Sunni, my amazing hair stylist, it felt just as being home. The salon itself is an oasis of tranquility and good taste. Everybody is so friendly and service is outstanding.La Petite Hair Stylists is a true gem in Alexandria, VA. I can only congratulate all the staff, specially Sunni. Keep the smiles and the good work!
