This is an old but very pretty cemetery. The staff are extremely helpful and professional. It took a while but the staff were great at helping my family get grave markers put on our family graves. The staff went above and beyond to help us get what we needed. It is difficult because we live in Texas so we can't just drive over to visit or deal with cemetery staff. The staff have always done everything needed to make sure our family grave site looks its best and remains presentable. This cemetery contains the humble grave of Wernher von Braun, the rocket scientist whose Saturn V rocket took Americans to the moon in 1969 (a feat no one has been able to repeat as of 2025).
Having moved to Alexandria later in life, this is where he chose to remain.

What a beautiful historic cemetery! Started in 1856, it's the resting place of many famous people from politicians to architects. The cemetery also has beautiful and unique flora, some placed near gravestones. Thanks to a group of dedicated neighbors, the cemetery is well-preserved. I was able to explore the grounds via car on a April Tuesday morning.
