I don’t need to have gone here to know that $675 for a 180 minute session is an absolute robbery. Do you actually want to help people or pad your bank account? Also a 48 hour cancellation policy is ridiculous. Seems to be all about profit with this place.

I was disappointed in my experience here. I think Margaret is probably a lovely counselor and I was looking forward to working with her more, but their office policies are unreasonable. They have a 48 hour cancellation window and I called 1.5 hours late (so 46.5 hours before my appointment). They refused to work with me and charged me a $170 cancellation fee. I am honestly shocked they weren't more understanding to unforeseen life demands. I think this lack of empathy should make anyone wary of seeking support here--it feels very transactional and based on Margaret's needs, not the patients'. It's a bummer for me, and also a big loss to them in thousands of dollars in future business from me, my spouse, and others I was prepared to recommend to this office.

Therapist Irene was okay very helpful information but in my opinion not as good for 150 a session. Had a issue with a day we scheduled there was little to no help. Front desk girl was not nice and unprofessional I work front desk in the medical field so I know how you should treat patients. Will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone I think you can find better else where that might care a little more.

I have been going to this practice for years and have an amazing relationship with my therapist. As a single successful woman she gives me feedback that has allowed me to grow from my past and be open for new opportunities in my future. I highly recommend them. Shes never afraid to give me a straight forward look at how I am perceiving situations in my life and help guide me to make the best choice.

Ashlee is amazing. Have been to her 4 times and she helps us with so much.

Did anyone else here know that therapists can't respond to reviews on account of confidentiality laws. So it's basically an ethics issue if they respond.

Regarding Margaret Thompson, she is an excellent therapist. Her strategy wasn't what I needed at this time (which is the only reason she didn't get five star), but I would still recommend her.

I don't know about the other counselors, but our experience of Margaret Thompson, the founder, is that she was disorganized, did not follow through, including the assessment report that we were due at the end of four sessions, and gave conflicting feedback to each of us from the separate sessions. We have a difficult case and were at the end of our rope and thought the SLMFTC had a good story, but at $600 for three hours with no meaningful guidance, we ended up frustrated with no actionable insights and none of the follow-up information she promised.

I had issues with Margaret Thompson as a counselor and how she runs her business. She claimed on my first visit, that she was paneled w/my healthcare insurance. She wasn't honest and didn't try preauthorization with my healthcare insurance. I felt taken advantage of, for 2 whole months of counseling w/no help or progress with my relationship. She ended up looking into my my insurance after the two months (I had asked about it at every visit). I ended up having to pay the whole expensive medical bill because she failed to confirm w/my health insurance/pre-approval before we started. I asked politely for a medical bill reduction, then she threatened me with her attorney. My insurance would have covered most of the expenses if she was paneled with them. Bad business, bad service.
