Stopped in for a walk-in tattoo today and got Cameron. Seriously the nicest, most respectful tattoo artist I have ever been to. And my tattoos turned out awesome. I highly recommend seeing Cameron here!

I couldn’t be more thrilled with my experience at Heart of Gold Tattoo! Andrew King took my small snake idea and transformed it into an incredible half sleeve that completely blew me away. The detail and artistry are beyond what I imagined. The shop itself has such a welcoming, laid-back vibe, and the entire staff is friendly and professional. If you’re looking for top-notch tattoos in a comfortable and creative environment, Heart of Gold is the place to go. Highly recommend Andrew and the team!

One of the best shops Ive ever been to. Andrew and Karlee have done many great tattoos on me. Andrew is also doing my traditional Japanese back piece, which is quite a journey. He has been nothing but professional and easy to work with the whole way. Very clean shop with a great vibe.

Went in for a walk-in after the guy that picked up the phone sounded friendly and open to it. I think I got stuck with the spare tire of the tattoo shop crew. Everyone else was personable and had clients. When attempting to brainstorm what I wanted, I felt like he was getting kinda frustrated with me and attitude was just not it. Pretty sure his coworkers even noticed. I’ve gotten tattoos before so I’m used to the collaborative process but since it wasn’t immediate simple, it was met with frustration. We eventually came to a design that I was good with so I went through with it. It’s like everyone else there was decent while this guy acted like I wasn’t worth their time. Not to mention pretty lackluster (barely any) after care instructions. Yes I have tattoos and know a bit about aftercare but as a responsible artist you should provide instructions and reminders regardless. I’ve always had my tattoos wrapped, not just bandaged with a tape without even asking if I was allergic to latex or chemicals in some taping. Which my skin happens to be sensitive to. Prob woulda had a better experience with another artist. $250 I guess was an ok price but I was prepared to tip well for a good experience

I went into Heart of Gold after my fiance came home with a banger tattoo from James last week.
I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted and James helped me find a design that fit my description.
This tattoo ended up better than what I could even conjure up on my own. I love it so much.
The environment is so cool and we got to chat with the other artists and the owner of the shop.
If you’re looking for an amazing tattoo with even better customer service go to Heart of Gold and ask for James.

Got walk-in tattooed by James today, I have well over 30 tattoos at this point. First time at this shop, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Salt Lake!
The shop has a really great atmosphere with no walls, a real social feel to it. James told me about this shop when I met him by him asking me about my tattoos downtown, and was cool with me dropping by to say hi even if I wasn’t going to get work done. The other artist I met was really friendly as well, I was hanging around just looking at the cool flash pieces on the wall. All of the art they do looks really cool, and the owner does some cool Japanese style pieces. Very laid back feel, while still clean and professional.
James was really cool about making sure that I picked an awesome design and encouraged me to take my time. He went the extra mile in making sure that placement and size looked great. The tattoo took about 40 minutes under the gun, very very painless. He wanted to give me a deal, but he told me what he usually does it for, and I just did it for that price because it was already a great great price. Through the years, I’ve seen a lot of places try to justify nickel and diming you because of rising costs, but this price was very agreeable. I know aftercare, but was still given instructions. I’ll let the tattoo speak for itself.
I will definitely be going back again to see James, and will update my review on getting a few custom designs. Don’t go anywhere else in Salt Lake!

Just got my first tattoo here! Staff was friendly and VERY welcoming. They helped me figure out what would be best! It’s exactly what I wanted!!!
My reasoning for getting this tattoo is because the game it is from has singlehandedly kept me from taking my own life. In my case, a gaming addiction has saved my life more than it has harmed me.
