Dr. Ponce and her team are not only experts in their field, but also compassionate and caring people.
They supported my husband and I through our senior girl, Lily's, heart murmur and hyperparathyroidism diagnoses without missing a beat. We always felt our girl was loved and cared for by the best! And we were lucky to have Dr. Ponce and her team at our side through the end.
Our girl finally passed at 14 years young after enjoying her golden years as a creek-splashing, tail-wagging hiker, camper, and cuddle monster. Thank you Dr. Ponce and everyone for everything. π

Avenues Pet Clinic badly misdiagnosed our dogβs ear issue and repeatedly charged us for services and medicine that made the issue worse. Take your animals elsewhere.

The staff is nice. Dr. Ponce is wonderful. They have an excellent imaging specialist in Dr. Gibbon. This clinic helped our beloved dog get better. We're very grateful for their support and talents.

If you think your cat is sick, I would highly recommend not using this vet.
On September 30th I requested the earliest appointment they had, which was listed as October 21st. I then got an automated email on October 2nd saying the earliest was now November 4th or November 11th. I chose the 4th.
Last Tuesday (November 4th) I took him in. They drew blood and took urine samples, and told me they would call me with the results to determine a treatment plan. I knew Indi was sick, but I didn't know how sick he was. They didn't provide me with any additional context on what they thought it was, or the condition they thought he was in. Just that I would receive a call with the results.
No one ended up giving me a call last week. Yesterday evening (Sunday), my wife was smart enough to post a video of Indi's breathing to a Vet facebook group since we thought it looked labored. They told us to take him to the ER immediately.
Unfortunately, last night at the ER we had to put our boy to sleep.
Today, I still didn't receive a call from them, so I came in person at 11am. They were kind enough to have 2 vets talk to me. The tests were completed on Wednesday and I was supposed to receive a call, but I didn't. The vet remembered Indi being in bad condition on Tuesday and being very stressed from the tests done on him. They told me they are switching from a paper record to electronic record for their vet practice and some mistakes are happening. They said when I don't receive a call, I should call them.
The tests showed that Indi was in kidney failure, along with other potential conditions. They apologized several times for me not receiving a call and the passing of my cat.
I understand forgetting to call if it's a regular check-in and the results are fine. But to just forget to reach out when my cat was in Kidney failure?
I paid $450 for my vet visit on Tuesday, $320 of that being the labs being done on Indi's blood.
Last night in the hospital, our boy had to be heavily sedated because he was so afraid. Within 2 hours we went from posting him to that facebook group to then saying goodbye to him forever.
I took him in because I knew something was wrong. I expected Avenues Pet Clinic to have a professional attention to their care. Even being told the lab results on Friday would have made a difference. We could have spent more time directly with him and arranged an at home euthanasia so his brother and sister could say goodbye.
The staff and doctors at Avenues Pet Clinic are nice and cordial. But, I don't think they're in a good place right now to onboard new patients and provide attentive care to those new patients.
