    Years ago my beloved horse became sick with something now called “pigeon fever”. He had a severe case that went on for 2 yrs. Scott tried everything he could think of and was constantly having to remove abcesses the size of baseballs, full of pus from Blitz’s chest. He tried every antibiotic and procedure only to have it come back after the treatment. Scott NEVER gave up. Eventually he called California where they were having many cases. (Blitz was only the 2nd in Utah). He gave him a course of Rafampin (a drug used on human TB patients) that would penetrate the abscess walls so that the heavy antibiotics could get in and do their job.
