OUTSTANDING ACADEMY! I had the opportunity to visit Select Jiu Jitsu while in Waco, and it was an absolutely top-notch experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it easy to feel at home right away—even as a visitor. Professor Lance is clearly a highly knowledgeable and experienced instructor. He communicates technique with clarity and patience, and it’s obvious he cares deeply about his students’ progress and the overall quality of the academy. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, you’ll find his instruction both challenging and accessible. The other students were warm, respectful, and inviting, which speaks volumes about the culture of the gym. There was no ego on the mats—just people who love Jiu Jitsu and are eager to train and grow together. The facility itself was spotless—from the mats to the changing areas, everything was clean and well-maintained, which is so important in a grappling environment. If you’re in Waco and looking for a place to train, Select Jiu Jitsu should be at the top of your list. I’m grateful for the hospitality and look forward to coming back when I’m in town again.
