Specialty Veterinary Pharmacy

my parrot was in need of cholesterol medication which needed to be compounded. My vet sent the prescription over to Stokes pharmacy and they charged me $142!! for a prescription that I got for $27.86 at SVP. I couldn't even believe it. I will never use Stokes pharmacy again and now I've learned to shop around for prices. Not only were they cheaper, but they were fantastic with communicating with my vet to determine how to compound this medication. They went above and beyond what most people would have done because my vet is not exactly great at returning calls, but they didn't give up. They were able to get me this medication and for an awesome price too. I can't say enough about them. Great job folks!

I spent months fighting to get my extra small dog to take her liquid medication. Even with flavoring added from a local compounding pharmacy and adding it to food, it was a stressful experience because the medication is very bitter and she needs to take it three times a day. I did some research and discovered the medication could be made into flavored chews like a dog treat. I talked with her veterinarian and she looked at the website, called the pharmacy with questions, then approved and wrote the prescription.
