“My first visit/cut here was today and I couldn't have asked for a better experience,I walked in as Mari was finishing with a customer and was welcomed immediately.As I waited I noticed a turntable with a modest collection of classic 60s r&b/soul favorites and some obscure Latino/Chicano soul albums too. Puro cultura. I was kindly obliged when I asked if I could play an album before climbing into the chair.Whaaaat? For reals..Mari was attentive to my style request and gave way more effort and detail to my cut than I expected. “Tried this establishment as part of the search for a new barber after leaving my tried & true in Huntsville. It is a family-run business with at least 3 siblings and their mother taking care of hair and beards. I made an appointment with Danny and he was quick to send me a text with directions and confirmation of my time slot. Danny was friendly, easy going, and it was nice to talk to a long-time local about the area. A hair cut was only $25 and I added a beard trim for another $10. It is more than I wanted to spend, but I realize I've been spoiled by The Cajun Barber.“

“I came in looking like a bum straight off the streets of Austin. I booked an appointment and specifically requested for someone with a beard.. I was at first disappointed since I ended up with a barber without one. I think it's best to have a barber who knows beards. Hot toweled and straight razored and finished with a jack and Coke so you don't really give a fuck what it looks like afterwards lmao. I was going to give 4 stars, but the jack and coke elevated it to 5 stars.“

“I had a harrowing night on the square trying to form music for a crowd of drunken college morons no damn near mobbed me and my dog in Oblivion. Mario is the owner and he was sitting outside of a bar as I walked by. This man engaged and was kind to me and even let me use space inside of his shop to repair my equipment so that I can perform. He gave me an open door to come back and perform anytime I like. I love this business and the person that runs it. I've been shaving my head and pretty much balls since I was 19 years old so I don't know much about haircuts but I do know the character of people or honest and engaging and I surely do appreciate that this business exists and that has been there for so long it put some salve on a pretty difficult trip to San Marcos. If you're local here and you need your haircut regularly I would highly recommend you go in and see Mario and the crew“
