About DaVi Nails Ray Ellison
DaVi Nails Ray Ellison is a nail salon that aims to provide professional and sanitary services in a relaxing environment while staying current with trends. Customers have reported excellent service, with one expressing their satisfaction with the quality of time taken to ensure nails are filled properly and polish lasts until the next visit. Another customer appreciated the salon's willingness to address an issue with chipping polish and redo the nails free of charge. However, there have been concerns regarding sanitation. A customer, who is a licensed cosmetologist from California, noticed that some items, such as towels, filing tools, and drill bits, appeared used and possibly not compliant with Texas state board sanitation requirements. This customer also reported issues with the gel manicure application, such as flooded cuticles and uneven filing, leading to chipping after four days. Despite these concerns, other customers have reported satisfactory experiences with acrylic nails. It is suggested that the quality of work may depend on the specific nail technician. Overall, DaVi Nails Ray Ellison is praised for its service and attention to detail, but it is recommended to ensure health standards are met, particularly regarding sanitation.
The first time I used them excellent service on fills and nail polish. Now I will not be going anywhere else except them. Really appreciate the quality of time they take to fill and make certain nails are filled all the way to the back of your nails . The shalack nail polish remains on until you return for a refill. They are usually very busy but definitely worth the wait. Wonderful work and very nice employees. Thank you at the nail saloon for your kindness and excellent work.
I went back today and explained the issue I was having, and showed them my chipping nails. The lady that was there tonight (12 June) explained that the first lady applied the paint over my skin, which is why it peeled. They redid my hands and it looks great. I hope it lasts more than 24h this time.
I'm not familiar with nail salons in San Antonio, so I might be biased on pricing and services. I'm a licensed cosmetologist from California staying with family, and wanted a gel manicure. This place was close, and the pictures seemed promising. I was sat very quickly, and the service was started within 5 mins of me arriving. I was a little nervous with the set up. The towel on the desk appeared used with filing dust, the bit on the drill was used before and on its last leg. Typically items that can't be washed and sanitized are single use only--one file, drill bit, buffer PER PERSON. Not used until broken. I'm not familiar with Texas state board, or their requirements for sanitation, but I don't think this place is fully compliant. I understand price points, and you get what you pay for, but I also believe that there's certain health standards that need to be met regardless of how cheap a manicure is. Gel manicure was $35, a fair price for what the service entails. However, I feel like the application was less than satisfactory. My cuticles were flooded with gel polish, and nails filed lob-sided. No primer or dehydrator applied, so it's now 4 days since my manicure and my nails are already chipping. I don't want to make generalizations about the whole of the salon in terms of quality work. A family member frequents acrylic nails at this salon, and her nails typically look nice. Maybe it was an off day, most likely it depends on the nail tech. Long story short, if you don't really care about matters of sanitation, I would recommend only getting acrylic here. Side note: Make sure whatever nail salon you go to is putting your health first!! You never know what illnesses or infections you can get.
