Last month my mother passed away suddenly in Texas. I live in a different state. I was incredibly overwhelmed, didnt know exactly what to do and very upset. I started to look up funeral homes in the area and happened upon Heart of Texas Cremation. I read some of the reviews as many do, and saw others found them kind and professional. I took a chance and called. I forget the name of the lovely woman I spoke to on the phone at first but she was very sweet and comforting. After filling out my proper paperwork, I recieved a call from Marina Reyna. The only issue I have is that they don't offer weekend hours, even for pick up of remains. Both me and my husband work so it's been challenging to try to arrange our schedules to drive all the way downtown (1 hour roundtrip). I would suggest offering a half day on weekends or at least extended evening hours on a day.
Samantha Zamora is an outstanding employee of Heart Of Texas Cremation whose kindness and compassion have helped me get through a difficult time. I'm extremely grateful to Samantha for helping me understand the cremation process with as little pain as possible. Whatever her salary is, it's not half enough! To my mind, she is an example of what a decent human being should be. She has my profound thanks.
