Small details matter.
I had a capacitor fail on the outdoor condenser fan unit. The replacement capacitor was smaller than the original and didn't fit the factory mounting location, so it had to be mounted on the inside panel of the condenser. While making the repair, Wayne noticed the unused opening left behind and sealed it with butyl tape.
Most people probably wouldn't think twice about a small hole in the cabinet, but it creates a path of least resistance for airflow. By sealing it, Wayne ensured the airflow stayed focused through the condenser coils where it belongs, helping the unit operate as efficiently as possible.
