Ke Kino Massage Therapy School

My family started going to Ke Kino for my youngest and his feeding difficulties. We have continued to go back for years because they are so supportive and genuinely care for my family. I have kiddos with complex medical needs and every therapist we've seen at Ke Kino has stepped up to whatever challenge I bring to them. They insist on working on the mother when they work on the children to better support the whole family's wellbeing.
Their work and guidance truly saved us when my youngest's oral restrictions were causing his inability to nurse or take a bottle.
For my child who is unable to speak, they have always made sure he is heard and understood.
We have gone to them for shoulder and neck tension, sciatic pain, and help with injuries to a sacrum.
They continue to help me in my personal health journey which includes things like healing diastasis recti, hip/pelvic corrections, and reconnecting to my body after so many beautiful and challenging changes.
I cannot recommend Ke Kino enough!

I have always enjoyed massage. Over the years I have seen Massage Therapy as a luxury but always experienced relief. I would usually pick a ‘Deep Tissue’ or ‘Sports Massage’ because I needed things to MOVE so that I could feel relief.

Fast forward to life after 4 pregnancies (with the 3rd and 4th being the hardest on my body), my 4th pregnancy (3rd baby) was born with a severe oral restriction (in other words she and I would primarily have a very very challenging breastfeeding relationship - which crushed me). Almost immediately, postpartum was very challenging and my midwife called in an SOS with Kekino... 5 days postpartum we went in for bodywork to see how it might be able to help us. I honestly didn’t understand what to expect but the experience was odd, surreal and helpful. 2 different therapists worked on both my baby and me. My husband, midwife and lactation consultant were also in the room with me. Like I said, the beginning was hard postpartum but I felt profoundly supported and loved in that moment.

At one point, I started to cry (call it postpartum hormones or whatever). The reality that sticks with me was the way the therapists held space for me to cry. I felt so safe in that moment. That single session was what introduced me to whole different world of Body work. Bodywork that’s patient, sweet, intuitive, thoughtful, safe and sometimes just funny and silly but ALWAYS helpful. The body is connected in so many fascinating ways. Having therapists who understand that AND are willing to share their knowledge with you so that you can better relate to your body really feeds an inherent need for understanding.

I have seen a handful of therapist at this point, John, Grace, Megan, Ly, Brendan, Nick, Collin, Anna. It’s not just ONE therapist that has the qualities listed above, they all share a lot of those qualities. It’s a culture of healing and safety and there’s a reason why I decided to keep going and then to eventually sign up and attend to be a student at the School. I wanted to be able to be that person for someone else. Someone who can facilitate the body’s ability to heal and feel better and safe. The ability to improve.

I love Kekino from the front door all the way back to the back offices. The therapists, admins and staff are all open to learning and growing and that’s the kind of environment I need for myself. Anyway, take what you will but if you need relief check them out!

As a recent graduate from the Ke Kino Massage Academy I could write out pages and pages about how wonderful my on going experience is. Whether you are a client or a student, the entire staff from the front desk to the therapists and management and even the Owner/CEO, they truly care about everyone who walks through the door.

The world we live in has become so much more difficult and confusing causing us to live in a constant state of tension and pain. I myself felt two dimensional, like a drawing on paper, and unable to breathe. After my second bodywork session I became more "normal" and three dimensional and was able to take my first full deep breath since I was a teenager.

The positive, calm and peaceful atmosphere of Ke Kino provides a wonderful and soothing setting for healing and relaxation from the world's stress and chaos I mentioned earlier.

Ke Kino has been transformational in my life and I whole heartedly and unreservedly recommend them!
