Merrimac & North is a favorite boutique and salon. The family that owns it is described as the absolute sweetest, most courteous and friendly people, making for the best shopping experience. Customers find fun treasures for the house, great gift ideas, the cutest clothes, and delicious lemon crunch cookies that are highly recommended. The salon expertise, particularly for gray hair transitions, is noted as meticulous and going above and beyond, leaving clients loving their new hair. It is considered a must-visit when in Mineral Wells.
This boutique has some unique items but my husband and I were drawn to the bakery. He said the Texas Sheet Cake tasted just like the Mrs. West's Cake his mother used to bake 50 years ago. The Texas Sheet Cake at this bakery was very moist and topped with a thick frosting that had the consistency of fudge peppered with the perfect amount of pecans. I chose the sugar cookie freckled with colored sugar. The cookie did not crumble but was moist enough to allow me to enjoy every bite. My only regret is that I didn't purchase a dozen for the road. We will definitely stop at this bakery next time we are passing through.
Went in to look for a lemon dessert for my wife. They had lemon crunch cookies! My wife loved them, better than one of the major cookie stores! People were very courteous and friendly ! Highly recommend!
