Does a good job on haircuts, been going here 3 years.

Terrible salon. Me and my friend called ahead and asked if they did blowouts to which the lady responded affirmatively. I should have left as soon as we walked in. There was no ac, dust all over the place, and old products laying around. The experience started with me and my friend getting our hair shampooed. The lady soaked my friend in water and her dress was wet all down her side. While she was shampooing my hair she washed my entire forehead in soap to which I responded by saying that I did not want my face to get shampoo all over it. While she was washing my hair I saw the male blow drying my friends hair with a regular brush to which I let the female stylist know we wanted blowouts. She said something in her language to the man and he starts flat ironing my friends hair while it was still wet. When I got to the chair the lady started ripping through my hair with a brush which I took from her so I could get the tangles out without breaking my hair off. She walked away and comes back with a hand full of biosilk and dumped it all over my scalp. She then started blow drying my hair like I would at home with no technique at all and then flat irons it. I asked if she had any heat protectant and she acted like she didn’t know what that was. After she was done flat ironing my hair my roots looked very greasy from the large amount of serum she dumped in. Both mine and my friends hair was flat and oily looking. I told her that she should have let us know if they did not know how to do a blowout style and she kept saying that was a blowout. I told her for future what a blowout was and that we DID NOT get what we asked for. Honestly, I’m upset I didn’t just walk out. I paid $60 for a terrible experience and the lack of customer service was disappointing. I would highly suggest to stay away from this place. I really think this place is a scam and I’m worried if these people have actually been doing hair.

I finally found a good haircut stylist in my area. Just moved from another state. Highly recommend Anne, she is the owner of this place and taking care of her customers.

Being an Asian male I have always struggle to find someone to be able to cut my hair exactly the way I wanted. 20+ years I've walked out of a barber shop feeling "meh, at least my hairs cut." Was going on a trip next week and needed an cut and decided to give New York Style Salon a try because it was close to me. My goodness I'm glad I did! Came in and was seated right away. The husband and wife was all smiles which I'm truly grateful for upon entering. Showed some pics and describe what I wanted and the Asian male (I will get your name next time!) said in full confidence he knew what I wanted. Given my experience with a barber, I was doubtful. When my cut was done, I just sat back and with a sigh of relief, finally someone knows what they are doing. Also my fiancé was smiling from ear to ear looking at me in the waiting area. I would highly recommend this place! If your looking for a nice, clean, gentleman cut without the frits and frill. This is your place. Thank you for the cut! New York Style Salon has gotten my business! Never been excited for a haircut but now I am. Thank you!

Worst hair stylist in McKinney. Unprofessional and do not know what they are doing.

I just got a hair wash and U shape haircut. The hairstylist and his wife did a great job. Great service, very nice people. I will be coming back

Such nice people work here. I think it is owned by a sweet Asian couple. They are friendly and pleasant. The gal who does braids in the back is the same. I have taken my son twice for a haircut and they do a great job.
