I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this center. I scheduled an appointment over a week ago and specifically verified that my insurance coverage was accepted before booking. Today, after taking time off and arriving for my appointment, I was informed by a staff member that my insurance is actually not accepted.

This lack of communication and verification wasted my time and caused unnecessary stress. I have a very important appointment next week related to a potential dream career, and this eye exam was a required part of that process. Had I been given accurate information when I scheduled, I would have made arrangements elsewhere.

I understand mistakes can happen, but confirming insurance coverage is a basic responsibility. Unfortunately, this experience reflects poor customer service and a lack of attention to patients’ needs. I hope the center improves its verification process so others do not experience the same inconvenience.

I had a very disappointing experience here. The doctor gave me an incorrect prescription, which I didn’t realize right away because I still had contacts left from my previous optometrist in another city. Once I switched to the new prescription and started struggling to see, I compared the two and realized the prescription was significantly different.

I called and asked for a recheck, thinking they would want to verify the prescription and make sure there hadn’t been an error. Instead, the doctor had the front desk call me to say I would have to pay full price for another visit and that they would not see me without payment.

Since my insurance benefits had already been used on the original exam, I was being asked to pay again just to correct-or even confirm-a prescription they got wrong. That’s a pretty shocking way to handle a patient concern. Mistakes happen, but refusing to even recheck a prescription unless the patient pays again feels more focused on billing than patient care.

Disappointed in low level of service (twice), apathy, at product pick up. Staff was our best friend at point of sale. When glasses were delivered though, staff gave the impression they could care less about fitting them. My son was not invited to sit down to try on his new pair. He was at the front counter when he was told to put them on, shake his head back and forth, look up and down, then asked if they felt good. We were then dismissed - until I spoke up. Afterward, I called my son’s Dad, who had also bought a pair of glasses which arrived a week earlier. He gave the same account of employee indifference. He said between both pair he spent $2k and would not be back. Too many other providers in the area to return to that.

I truly appreciate Dr. Albortz and the level of care she provides. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and always takes the time to clearly explain my eye care needs and answer questions. Her professionalism and attention to detail are the reason I continue to return to the practice.

Unfortunately, my experience outside of the exam room has been less positive, the customer service experience felt very transactional rather than welcoming. The sales associates did not appear particularly engaged or helpful during the frame selection process, and there was little effort made to provide style guidance or create a warm customer experience. A more modern, diverse frame selection along with a more energetic and customer-focused approach from staff would greatly improve the overall experience.

While I trust Dr. Albortz with my eye care, I will likely purchase my frames elsewhere moving forward.

First appointment today with Dr. Patel. Beautiful Office and tremendous staff and Doctor and their technology to top notch.. Highly recommend!

I enjoy going to MCKINNEY FAMILY EYECARE. The staff is friendly and Dr Patel is nice and informative. She takes the time to ask if I have any issues and she explains my situation so I can understand.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this practice. Every time I go here I always have such an easy and stress free experience from start to finish. I’m always greeted warmly by Tori and Kaaren up from and checked in and out with ease. Then Jessica took me back and she is amazing making the process so smooth and easy and is very fun to talk to. Dr. Alborz is the best she is so informative and makes you feel very comfortable in the room and lets you take your time to make sure that everything is done correctly. Then upon leaving Tori lets you know all possible charges so you’re aware of what is to come. This office does it right and the staff is excellent and so fun. I highly reccomend checking them out!

Shelly is one of the best in industry. She came highly recommended and it is real pleasure to work with Shelly.
I would recommend that management give her a raise/ bonus for the excellent work that she does.
Another thing to note, if she had a card scanner then one can make payments thru her also.
As the person collecting payments has a very bad attitude. Last time I was at your premises. Torry was on break and I had to wait long time just so she could swipe my credit card. On top of that she was abnoxious and very bad attitude.
If management provides Shelly a card scanner then we would not have to deal with Tory.
