We had an amazing experience with McKinney Hardwood Flooring. Tommy runs the business very smoothly. The whole process went great with constant communication from when we selected samples from when we completed the installation. The crew (Marcos, Gregorio, & Tony) did the installation were very friendly and professional and worked extremely hard to complete the job in a timely fashion. Tommy was onsite during parts of the installation to check in on progress with the crew as well as us to make sure we were happy with the service. My wife and I couldn't be more happy with the whole process and and the end result of our new floors. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I can’t say enough good things about McKinney Hardwood Flooring. The process was great from the moment we picked out our floors to the last day of work at our house. Gregorio and Marcos are so talented and did the best job ever with our hardwood floors and new baseboards. I truly can’t believe how new floors totally transformed our 20 year old craftsman style home. Juan and his crew are also super talented and artistic with their tile work, not to mention how they treated my home as if it was their mother’s house. Both the hardwood and tile teams took great care with our home and were so amazing to work with!
Working with McKinney Hardwood Flooring to update and replace all of our floor was the best decision we have ever made!!!

I have used McKinney Hardwood Flooring twice in the past year. Tommy led both projects, but different crews worked each job. Both experiences were excellent. The work was done on time and to a high standard, the prices seem reasonable, and everyone was friendly and professional. If you need anything involving hardwood floors, look no further.

BUYERS AND HOME OWNERS BEWARE!!! I had the misfortune of hiring McKinney Hardwood Flooring, formerly known as Competitive Hardwoods of McKinney. However, my experience occurred over 2 years ago and it is misfortunate that my family has had no recourse for a terrible experience with this company. It was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Not only was the installation itself shoddy and subpar, but the customer service and follow-up were virtually non-existent, leaving me stuck with a mess that I now have to pay someone else to fix 2 years later. I had hoped that over the time they would rectify my issues even after an outside inspector came in to tell this firm they did not install our hardwoods appropriately. Which the job was almost $45,000 for white oak in our home. So it was an extremely large purchase. Firstly, the installation team were inexperienced, poorly trained, and did a terrible job. The leader of the crew was named Juan and he was absolutely no help. They made a mess of my property, leaving debris and scraps of flooring strewn about with no regard for cleanliness. But the real problems arose when I inspected their work and to my fear had already paid them: crooked lines, uneven edges, and gaps between planks were just the beginning. It was as if they had never installed flooring before in their lives nor did they care. The flooring has cupping and issues from their lack of attention to detail to simple nail patterns left our floors a mess and degrading the value and pride in our home. To add insult to injury, when I attempted to reach out to the company for assistance and to address my concerns, I was met with nothing but radio silence or they would not even come out to the home. It turns out that the previous owner of the business Larry Miller had recently sold it to a new individual, Tommy and the transition was anything but smooth. The new owner seemed completely disinterested in honoring the commitments made by the previous owner, leaving me high and dry with no recourse for the botched installation. It's truly disheartening to see a company abandon its customers like this, especially after taking their hard-earned money. I would strongly advise anyone considering hiring to think twice and look elsewhere for their flooring needs. Save yourself the headache and frustration of dealing with incompetent contractors and unresponsive management. This company's lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction make them unworthy of anyone's business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We live in Prosper, TX and I am happy to talk with anyone in detail before you hire this company or spend a dime with them...214-543-5573! I have told all my neighbors not to use them and posted on Gentle Creek message boards. The one thing I wish I would have done is to write this review last year, but when we finally saved the money to get them redone it bubbled back up my frustration. Therefore, I wanted to save others from the same mistake by using this company. I won't change anything likely from them however, I am hopeful I can save someone from purchasing floors from this company. Especially if you value your home.

I would highly recommend McKinney Hardwood Flooring. I had water damaged hardwoods in a section of my house that had to be replaced and scraped and stained to go with the remainder of the house. Tommy’s communication was great and the crew was professional from start to finish and the quality of the work is excellent! I would certainly use them again.
