My son and I are victims of domestic violence that’s still happening today. In February of 2024, about a week after I started a new job, after being unemployed for about 7 months, one of our emotional support cats, Lucky, was sick so we took him to this vet clinic. They completely refused to work with us at all with the cost of the surgery that he needed. And my credit was horrible. So they coerced us into surrendering him. Then they killed him.
About 2 months later, we were homeless. From April 2024 to February 2025. In July of 2024, we had to put our other emotional support cat down. He was 18 years old and he was suffering. So after that, we didn’t have any emotional support cats to help us through that extremely difficult time.
We’re still extremely heartbroken and furious about how HORRIBLE we were treated at Live Oak and we honestly don’t trust vets anymore because of them. It’s extremely cruel to steal someone’s emotional support cat in the first place but instead of caring for him, they killed him.
After finally being able to move into a home in February of 2025, we rescued 2 new emotional support cats. We could’ve had them both spayed for free through a voucher program through the pound. But we would’ve had to take them to Live Oak. There’s absolutely no way that we will trust them ever again!!! We were able to get them both spayed at P.E.T.S. Clinic. And yes, we paid for both of them to be spayed.

They are phenomenal. They truly care. I've never had a vet call me late at night just to let me know my furbaby was doing ok. She's had multiple surgeries due to a horrendous injury and they have been a blessing to us both!

Our poor Dog had cancer and passed and the vet, Dr. Matt Henderson and the wonderful lady that examined our boy were amazing. It was such an emotional time for us they could not have been more gentle and kind through this process. We will take our next Dog here! They have good hearts and care about their customers.

Updated in 9/2024; Dr. Cleveland discovered he actually has Cushing’s Disease. I am truly impressed by how quickly he determined this after only having met with Micah and heard his story once. Very grateful. ?
I have used this veterinary clinic for a few years now. Today, I learned my dog has a liver infection/disease. They were extremely kind and helpful: beginning with the front desk, then the techs, and the doctor. Thank you all for your help and dedication to quality service for animals. Mine means the world to me. ?

We again would like to thank the entire staff of Live Oak. Thank you for the compassionate way & support you all provide. Best Vet Clinic & Staff I’ve ever seen.
I’d like to thank all the staff for their compassion, empathy & such good treatment of all of the animals they help. I went with my good friend today, knowing her dog was sick. Dr Clary & his very nice Vet Assistant explained everything to my friend. You all are so kind & great at what you do. Rest in peace Miss Sophie. Thank you Live Oak for dealing with in Grace & compassion.

I had the worst experience at Live Oak Animal Hospital. Not only did they treat me and my family poorly, but I truly felt we were being discriminated against because we are Hispanic. The staff was incredibly rude and dismissive toward us from the beginning.
To make matters worse, when I was unable to pay the full $300 upfront, instead of accepting a copy of my driver's license (which is standard practice at many other places), they forced me to leave my actual driver's license with them to go retrieve the money. This reckless demand put me in the dangerous and illegal situation of having to drive without my license.
I have never been treated with such disrespect or made to feel like less of a person at any other animal hospital. This place not only lacks compassion for animals, but it also clearly lacks basic respect and courtesy for their customers. I will never return here, and I would strongly advise others—especially those in minority communities—to avoid this place at all costs. Unbelievable and unacceptable behavior!

I had to bring my cat for surgery from Clovis NM and they checked us in a timely manner. The cost was what they gave me as an estimate before I arrived. They gave me updates on his status after surgery and called to check on him since coming home. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing good vet care!! Very thorough and caring!!!

My dog may have to be euthanized this morning. On Saturday, I took my dog in just to get blood work done. Live Oak took out a vein catheter they did NOT place, and I begged them not to before they even did it. I even signed AMA paperwork and the girl said it was “against policy” to leave it in and “we will see”. She said she would leave it in if he was going to another vet and I told her he had treatment Monday morning. She brushed it off and included that she took it out at the very end of his visit.
This morning at our vet, they are so worried trying to tap a vein and that there may be no way to place a new one and give him treatment due to him having low blood count.
