“I had an amazing experience at Hair by Love Salon! Since I was a brand new client and wanted to go from virgin black hair to an unnatural color, I first had to schedule a consultation. My consultation was with Brianna, and it was quick, easy, and informative. I showed her inspiration photos of the lavender color I wanted, and she performed a strand test to make sure my hair would react well to the lightening process before booking my appointment.

About two weeks later, I came back for my color appointment. I knew going from virgin hair to an unnatural color would be a long process because I had done it six years ago with another stylist, so I came prepared with my Kindle and some snacks. If you’re planning a major color transformation, I definitely recommend doing the same! I arrived at 11:00 AM and didn’t leave until around 8:00 PM. My hair is very long and thick, so the entire process took about seven hours.

For my appointment, Brianna did a balayage, colored my hair purple, gave me a haircut, and styled everything before I left. The total came to $597.60, including a 20% tip. I wanted to include the price because I know I always appreciate seeing what a transformation like this typically costs when reading reviews.

Brianna was wonderful throughout the entire appointment. She always let me know whenever she stepped away, offered refreshments, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The atmosphere in the salon was just as impressive. You can tell everyone genuinely enjoys working together and supports one another. Brianna had a few of the other stylists help at different stages of the process, and it really felt like a team effort.

One thing I especially appreciated was how knowledgeable they are about vivid hair colors. I originally wanted a soft pastel lavender, but they intentionally colored my hair a darker purple. By starting with a deeper purple, it would gradually fade into the lavender shade I originally wanted instead of washing out after just a couple of shampoos. That showed me they care more about giving clients long lasting results than simply matching the inspiration photo on day one.

The first photo I’m attaching was taken the day after my appointment after my very first wash and after I styled it myself at home. The other photos were taken on July 10 after several washes and even swimming in a pool. The color has now faded into the exact soft lavender I originally wanted, so Brianna was absolutely right about starting with a darker shade.

One tip for anyone new to vivid hair colors is that they do require a little maintenance. After my first time in the pool, I noticed quite a bit of fading. I like to use the brand Keracolor once or twice a week between salon visits, and it’s helped keep the color looking fresh while conditioning my hair. It has been a great way to extend the life of my color.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience and would absolutely recommend Hair by Love Salon, especially Brianna, to anyone looking for a major color transformation. Their professionalism, communication, teamwork, and expertise made the long appointment completely worth it, and I love that my hair has evolved into exactly the color I envisioned.“

A few years ago, I came to her after having my eyebrows done at another local place, and unfortunately they were done horribly. The color was extremely deep and, even years later, is still there. “I went in for my first time here to see Mary on 11/30. Let me start with, I did hair for 14 years and got out a while back, but I am still always so nervous when getting a haircut. I have tried a couple other places here in Kyle, and I just was not comfortable during my visit, just either not too friendly stylists, the feeling of them rushing through it then charging an arm and leg and it would NOT be worth the price, etc. I am not one to ever complain or anything so I just pay it and go. Haven't necessarily had a horrible cut, just not a great experience to where I wanted to go back. So I made my appt here at Out of the Blue Salon, after reading good reviews online, and I wanted a "Sexy stacked bob cut". From the start of walking in the door, Mary was busy with a client, but she greeted me, and asked if I wanted to sit in the chair next to them and just visit while she finished up. They were talking and including me in the conversation, just laughing and having a good time. She finished up, then got me in her chair, looked at my pics and talked about what I wanted. I got great shampoo, then the conversation just flowed from there while she was cutting my hair. It took me back to some of the awesome stylists I worked with over the years, and I felt so at ease and comfortable. It did not feel like an uppity, snooty place, (Like the others) but it was clean and cute inside. We literally talked and laughed the whole time she was cutting. I also told her how I always say to go longer because I am scared, but I always end up going back to get it shorter. She reassured me that if I had any issue with anything or wanted it to be shorter, to not hesitate to come back in and she would take care of it, no problem. I left there paying the best price for a haircut that I have paid in a long time, and it is the best cut I have had in a long time as well. I left and immediately called my husband to tell him I was on my way home, and that I had found my new stylist. I will DEFINITELY be returning to Mary for my cuts. I may even stop having my husband help me with my coloring at home and come to her for that too, lol. If you have any doubts about trying a place, look no further.
