First time here. Nice Latin music in the background love this. Not sure why the main restaurant room (left) is so plain, not decorated?…the next room where the domino table sits is nicely decorated to give you the feeling of being in the island. Food was good and with good portion. We took advantage of the weekly promotion $8.99, however the price of the sodas was what disappointed me most. Coke can $3.19 and Cola Champagne can $3.25. I would recommend to the restaurant to add pricing of drinks in the menu (not just listing it) that will give the customer the opportunity to choose. Service is great.
I have recently been to La Garita. The service is good. The Acapurrias were not cooked right and I am not sure if they were leftovers or freshly done. I enjoyed the white rice beans and tostones. I will say it is a bit hot in La Garita if you are waiting to get food picked up or wanting to eat there. I give La Garita 3 stars mostly due to atmosphere and food.
I came here when I was returning to Haltom City from Fredericksburg, TX; to get lunch and continue my journey to home. They provide authentic Puertorrican food. I ordered the “Special of the Day” that was rice w beans, 2 pork chops, and a drink (only $9.99). Tasty food, really puertorrican flavors. The best is prices are affordable. The have “chuletas can can” in the menu so if you like fried pork choos; you should try it. If you are in Killeen area, stop there and you will not be disappointed.
