The facility is well-attended, with staff regularly wiping down shower areas and removing debris, ensuring a clean environment. The Korean spicy chicken ramen is praised for being delicious, and the Swedish massage is highly recommended for its quality. The aloe drinks are also a favorite among guests. The sauna area has updated menus, though some food items can be pricey, and certain counters sometimes run out of popular items like Korean sauna eggs. However, there are areas for improvement. Some guests have noted concerns about sanitation, particularly in the public baths, where hair and debris have been observed. Also, some guests have experienced noise from the nearby playground area during busy times. The food prices are considered high, with appetizers costing as much as entrees. The towels and washcloths are available for purchase but not provided, so visitors often bring their own toiletries. Wi-Fi can be inconsistent, sometimes working well and other times not. Additionally, there have been reports of guests entering the baths without showering first, despite signs requesting showering beforehand. Clearer signage, such as larger signs on the glass door, could help improve hygiene awareness. Overall, Spa World Houston remains a relaxing destination with many positive features, but addressing cleanliness, signage, and food service issues could enhance the guest experience further.
I’m updating this because Spa World has changed this policy. Check-in is a breeze now and it’s a pleasure to return to for a relaxing spa day. Initial review below.
I used to love coming to this spa, and unfortunately, can no longer recommend it. They’ve imposed a clear bag policy and will not allow you to put a large purse or computer bags in your locker where they would be safe. They do not explicitly disclose this on their website, forcing guests to either buy a cheaply made highly breakable plastic bag from them, leave all of your things car where they are susceptible to theft, or leave them unsecured at the front desk where there is an undisclosed amount of foot traffic of guests and employees where your things may also be susceptible to theft. A pencil broke the plastic bag I bought almost immediately. I typically spend 3+ hours here and like to bring my computer and text books to work between services, like many others. This is a huge, blindsiding inconvenience. I asked if they could simply check my bag so that I wouldn’t have to carry all my possessions in my hands, risk breaking the plastic bag I was forced to buy, or leave my things where they’d more susceptible to theft. They refused and when I asked to speak with a manager, the manager was inflexible, unwilling to accommodate my concerns, or provide an explanation. The service and experience has considerably declined and I no longer feel Spa World cares for its patrons and clients as much as it did in years past.
I wish I could give 5 stars but the older lady at the cafe was so rude and racist!! She never greeted me, then tried to argue with me because she didn’t know what kind of ice cream they serve (scooped or soft served) she was only attentive to Caucasian people. She made me never want to come back
I love this place!! 10/10 highly recommend!! The atmosphere is wonderful very relaxing. The messages are to die for.
