I'm so grateful for the brave people who work at Planned Parenthood. We've been going to the Gulf Freeway location for several years for healthcare. These are NOT HANDMAID'S TALE Days, regardless of the attempts by the weasels.
I had an appointment on 4/22 with Jessica. The appointment was great! Her bedside manner was great and she was very professional.
My complaint, however, is that the website claims you will not send someone away for not being able to pay. However, the woman who checked me in told me it was a requirement to pay upfront when I stated I couldn't afford the $217. Had to put my bank in the negatives to pay for the appointment.
I went to Planned Parenthood for an IUD insertion. The nurse practitioner Sonia was so amazing. She was so kind and welcoming and explained the entire procedure to me, from choosing which type of IUD was best for me, to how to have a smooth recovery afterwards and things to look out for. She was very professional and warm at the same time, which made me feel so much more comfortable. Yes it hurt, but that is normal. I would absolutely come back to this location.
