“I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel like this experience deserves it.

I am nowhere near new to Grow, and have been coming here for many years with Silver - who is also fantastic, by the way! Bills are high so I have not come by in about a year - so when I saw they were having a 20% off promotion for a Thursday with a Lvl 1 stylist, I decided to give someone else a chance. Silver has been the only stylist in a long time who has been able to get my hair to exactly where or what I want, so I was a bit nervous about trying with someone new. Amber however did not disappoint. She was knowledgeable, personable, and friendly, working with me to make exactly what I wanted happen. It’s usually hard for me to hold conversations with people but it was like talking to an old friend when I was talking to Amber, even though I just met her.

I ended up getting ill during the middle part of my appointment from what we assume was the bleach being used in my hair. Though it was pretty unsightly, Amber handled the situation with absolute grace and professionalism, actually going back and forth to get me a bucket and the water I needed, and taking things slower or hurrying up on certain things depending on how I was feeling. At the end we had to cut it short due to me getting sick again, but once again she was very professional and handled the situation so well. I know I have a lot of hair and it took more time and product than she and I were both expecting — but again, Amber did not complain, and only tacked on a very small charge for having to use extra toner.

I will be back in 2 weeks to finish my hair with Amber and get the cut that I so desperately need - as well as get some pictures for her to post for her new clientele! Again, Silver is outstanding and she as well deserves a raise and another level bump-up, but Amber went out of her way for me today and she absolutely deserves so much praise and recognition from the team.
