“My oldest son had his first barber shop experience. He wanted something more trendy, so it was time to graduate him from Supercuts.
I'm giving 4 stars because he is very happy with the cut. The woman who cut his hair was shown some images for inspiration but ultimately had the freedom to work out what would look best on him. She did a really good job with the cut and style.
The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was for the vibe.
Typically, barbers are friendly and conversational. The barber shop experience is more than just a haircut.
This place did not have that vibe, though.
Although, some of the men were friendly when we came in... the barber cutting my sons hair said maybe all of 6 words to him. She spoke quite a bit to the other female barber next to her. My son's haircut took awhile, and at one point, I thought he might actually fall asleep because he was so bored. ?
She was pretty chatty with her coworker. Kept looking at her phone, too. I can't tell you how many times she set down and picked up the same hair dryer because she was distracted by the conversation with the woman next to her.
It's fine... it's a busy shop and you need time to connect with your coworkers, and people have kids... you gotta check your phone. Honestly, it all would have likely gone unnoticed if she just gave my son the same experience and courtesy that she would give an adult.
There are plenty of barber shops to choose from in this area.
For the $70 that I spent, I want someone talented cutting my son's hair (like the woman who did it today) but also professional and considerate. We will likely not be returning to this shop.“
