I sprained my knee, and from healing injuries in the past, I trust the healing by acupuncture. Therefore, I looked for a place where I could get my knee treated by acupuncture. I had back surgery 13 years ago, it left me with lower back and hip pain. Over the years I have tried many things with no relief. A friend suggested acupuncture. I was nervous at first but thought I would try. I searched on line and found Acupuncture & Integrated Health. The young lady who answered was kind and put me at ease. I am incredibly grateful that I found Dr. Shim at Acupuncture & Integrated Health Care. When I first began treatment, my mobility was severely limited, I struggled just to walk from my car into a building, needed support while grocery shopping, and even had to sit down to do simple tasks like blow-drying my hair.
My lower back pain was the most significant issue, creating a cycle where limited movement led to weight gain and additional health problems. It felt like a downward spiral that I couldn’t break.
After just five weeks of treatment with Dr. Shim, I’ve experienced what I can only describe as an extraordinary turnaround. Recently, I was able to spend hours walking through large antique malls with my husband, something that would have been unthinkable before. I can now clean my home, vacuum, and mop the floors, in about an hour, instead of taking an entire day with frequent breaks.
While I still have arthritis and mild discomfort, the pain no longer controls my daily life. Instead, it feels distant and manageable, without taking oral medications. I wake up feeling better than I have in years.
I also experienced a knee injury shortly after starting treatment. Given my history of multiple knee surgeries, I fully expected another operation. However, within just a couple of weeks of care, the pain resolved to the point where I could return to normal activity! Something I never would have believed possible.
I know this is getting long, but I must comment on the professional environment of the office. The reminder system is excellent for keeping your appointments on track and Valeria is highly efficient and consistently kind and helpful.
