    We’ve been taking my sons (children under 10) to get haircuts here for over a year. Yes, the haircuts are hit or miss, but overall we’ve been satisfied. We always ask for scissors on top and clippers on the bottom (2). We’ve paid $17 each time, plus tip. Today, the lady charged us several dollars more which prompted me to ask if the prices had changed & she said that since she “used scissors, there’s an upcharge”. I told her we’ve always been charged less and her response was “well the other people were charging you wrong”.     Currently stationed at Fort Bliss and only come to this barber every other month and never had problems with any barbers there. Always get the medium skin fade and never had any problems forgot their names but I just wanted to get a haircut before duty week as usual. If only they can shave the sides but other than that good barber spot. ?

    We brought our son in for a haircut, knowing his hair was a bit shorter we wanted it to align with this picture so it can grow into this over time.

    What was unsettling was the barber’s response: she said she could “try,” and several customers advised me to go off-base for a “stylish haircut,” claiming the barbers here only excel at military cuts.

    I’m confused—don’t all barbers receive the same training? Is this really the reputation you want in the community, one of limited skill and confidence?
