I have wanted for so, so many years to get the perfect bob in Dallas, and had given up, tired of wasting money, figuring that at least with Supercuts I could get a tolerable cut. But after my nice Supercuts lady left her job, and because I have a big meeting coming up, I thought: "Maybe splurge and try one more person?" Holy cow was this expensive haircut worth every penny! What a difference! Precision! Artistry! Real shaping! And I have fine hair with cowlicks which even high end stylists in the past have taken a while to figure out. Not Derek. He studied my hair, took the time to really find out what I wanted, and then was meticulous in getting it perfect. And it IS perfect! So many other places focus on color and bells and whistles, and I am sure he does that, too, and superbly. But if you want the real skill -- no cover up or fancy styling, but a perfectly shaped cut that lies "just so" on its own because of the cut itself, Derek's your guy. And the woman who makes the appointments is also super nice. I had a crisis and needed to reschedule, and she was so kind and accommodating, as was Derek. Although he is very friendly, he is not a super chatty guy -- he focuses on his art. So if you want lots of chatter, this is not the place. But there is a kindness and relaxed feeling where you just feel like you are in the very best hands. And even though he "fit me in," I never felt rushed or tense. Derek is just. So. Professional. And I am so grateful to get a chic Parisian look, magazine-ready -- and ready for my conference!“
