I don't think I have ever had such a thorough, detailed color work for such a good price. Even got compliments from the husband! I have found my hair place in Boerne.
Looking forward to taking my 4 yo for her first trim.

First time at Barbie's, first time with Kristen. She was great! Despite having no hot water and no power on her side of the wall, she took it in stride and we made it happen.
The consult was great. She is an excellent listener, extending her professional opinion without ever making you feel judged.

“Was the cut the worst? No. Was the color the worst? No, but were they what I asked for or was expecting? Also NO. I get there can be some variation in color but I asked for vivid bright purple, like the photo I showed for reference but with black roots, which we also talked about because I explained how my stylist back home would cover them with black and we didn’t bleach to the root and a cut like the photo also shown. I was quoted $260 then after my bleach was applied that changed to $319 which ok cool I’m ok with paying that for as much color I wanted and the amount of work it takes. I value peoples time and skill. No biggie and my stylist honestly seemed very sweet. The thing is I got the impression she was VERY new to doing hair or at least to doing vivid hair after some conversation. Once she applied color I asked about the black roots and she said she misunderstood me but that the color would be so pretty and next time we could add the black. Ok fine. Then when she was getting ready to blow dry she went back to my bangs and asked where to part I reminded her we did full fringe bangs and then she brushed them forward and trimmed a few long hair at that point I noticed not all my bangs were parted in so I asked if I could borrow her comb to part them out and again showed her some pics of how thick my bangs were when I came in and then she tried to trim them to match at which point I explained that they should frame my face as we had discussed I did not want blunt or short bangs. She did her best to fix them and again apologized and me being me said ok that’s ok no worries, they looked better than they were looking and I figured I can fix my bangs at home if I absolutely have to. She then asked if I’d like my hair curled but At this point I was ready to go as I arrived at 11:15 my appointment was at 11:30 and we got started right away. I was the only client in there at that time and I did not leave there until just after 6 pm and that’s a very long time for the work that I left with. 7 ish hours (the longest I’ve sat for more work than this is 2.5 hours) and I left with something completely different than what I asked for. Did I complain? aside from bringing the things mentioned to her attention… NO I did not complain, I wasn’t rude.. I even debated writing this review because I keep telling myself it could have been worse ??‍♀️and YES I paid the full amount plus I tipped 15%. Why? because I felt bad for the stylist mid way through my bleaching her second vivid hair appointment arrived and that client sat for a long time waiting for my hair to be done. Did I prebook my next appointment? NO. Hard NO. I got in my car at which point my pint up anxiety let loose and I went home and yes I cried … not because my hair wasn’t what I wanted but because I couldn’t find it in my heart to say more in the moment . Anyways that’s my honest review. I really wanted to like this place because I did like the atmosphere and the people there were fun. I think with more practice… lots more the stylist could be good and that time management should be something she focuses on to improve.“
