Recently had my Hip replaced. Dr Gallagher is easy to talk with and personable. Has been responsive to any questions.
I am giving Dr. Sean Gallagher and his entire team a solid 5 for my recent total knee replacement performed April 28th, 6 days ago. I am 78 years old and covered with medicare as my primary insurance. Dr. Gallagher had previously replaced my left hip with a great result and had been following my left knee which was gradually getting worse so there was no hesitation on my part in going with Dr. Gallagher when he and I felt it was time. In preparation for the operation, Dr. Gallagher scheduled me with a pain management specialist to block as many knee nerves as possible prior to performing the operation. The operation was performed at Ascension Seaton Medical Center. The whole process was totally well organized and I was attended constantly, although no one seemed to be able to remember my name; they were constantly asking me what it was, and my birthdate. Ascension Seaton also proved some cutting edge technology including heated surgical gowns, a portable non-opioid anesthetic delivery system device that lasted about 4 days, an ice water pump system cuff for icing the knee, and shower proof incision bandages (you’re not supposed to shower while using the anesthetic pump). The pump system contributed greatly in making the first 4 days bearable. The "On-Q" pump system was just recently approved Jan 1st for payment by Medicare so it is pretty much the latest technology. (I'm looking into investing in the company in my IRA). I would also give a shout out to the anesthesiologist who did a great job (I don’t remember his name but he and Dr. Gallager work together). I deliberately scheduled my surgery for first thing in the morning;I was home by 1:00 in the afternoon. I’m 6 days out now, I think I’m ahead of schedule on my recovery, and I’m able to sleep.
