About Perspective Physical Therapy
Perspective Physical Therapy is highly recommended for anyone dealing with pain or injuries, whether related to climbing, running, or other sports. Patients have praised the expertise of Dr. Q and Dr. Tran, highlighting their ability to identify the root causes of injuries and provide effective treatment plans. One patient sought help after experiencing a painful A2 pulley injury while climbing. Despite prior successes in self-treatment, they turned to Dr. Q for professional guidance. After a few sessions, they reported feeling stronger and more confident in their ability to climb without pain, thanks to a tailored plan from Dr. Q. Another patient struggled with plantar fasciitis that limited their running to just a quarter mile. After unsuccessful self-treatment efforts, they consulted Dr. Tran, who quickly assessed their condition and created a Return to Running Program. Within months, they were back to running 2-3 miles pain-free, crediting Dr. Tran for his supportive guidance and effective tissue work. A third patient, suffering from knee pain due to volleyball, experienced significant improvement after working with Dr. Q. He provided informative explanations, myofascial release treatments, and a personalized exercise program. When a new injury arose, Dr. Q promptly adjusted the program to address both knees, ensuring continued progress and injury prevention. Overall, Perspective Physical Therapy is committed to helping patients regain their health and return to their activities with confidence.
I can't say enough great things about Dr Q. Not only does his treatments work wonders, he's also really great about explaining the reasonings behind what I'm experiencing. Every session, I learn more about myself and my body. Happy to say that after just 4 sessions and doing my "homework" I'm no longer experiencing the random twinges of pain in my hip. Thanks Dr Q!
I am a beginner climber. With 2 months of climbing under my belt I started feeling shoulder pain that stopped my climbing experience dead in its tracks. I floundered around on my own for several months with “Dr. YouTube” until an acquaintance mentioned Dr. Q. What a life changing conversation that turned out to be! Today, 2 months after I started seeing Dr. Q, I was able to get on the wall again! On my first visit with him I couldn’t even lift my arm up 45 degrees to my side, so he had his work cut out for him. After 2 weeks of working on me (4 sessions), my arm regained full motion to the side (that was a joyous day!), and the remaining bits of pain and immobility took the rest of the time to get worked out (he taught me patience!). But aside from all of the timeline data, what I’d really like you to know about Dr. Q is that he sees you as a whole person. He is a master of his craft, and with him it’s not only about point A attaching to point B and how the body works, it’s also about listening to you and understanding what you need, both physically and emotionally, in order to regain the level of health, physical activity and joy in life that you desire. And today, when I went climbing at the gym for the first time in seven months, he was right there with me showing me proper movement, from warm up and climbing to cool down, so that the possibility of injuries in the future will be minimized. I am not only back to climbing, running and lifting, but I’m feeling joy in my life again! I am ever so grateful to Dr. Q for listening, caring, and guiding me through this process with his unique talent for balancing knowledge of the human body with sensitivity to the human soul. Simply the best!
After working with Dr. Q for several months now I would highly recommend him to anyone that is experiencing a climbing related injury, or non-climbing related injury for that matter as he is good at finding the root of the problem and is very knowledgeable. My injury occurred when climbing a local Austin boulder at Bull Creek that involves lots of hard moves on pockets. After a session on this boulder I had a significant amount of pain in my A2 pulley that got much worse after an indoor session a month later while full crimping. After re-aggravating the injury I waited about three weeks to go to Dr. Q to get an evaluation and treatment. The reason I waited was that I have had several pulley injuries in the past and recovered successfully from them. This time I decided to seek professional advice and treatment to figure out the reason for getting frequent finger injuries and what to do differently. Although I am not 100% back to unrestricted climbing, (and not to jinx myself) I am feeling much stronger after working with Dr. Q. I am confident that he provided me with a plan going forward to climb unhindered by injury and much healthier in the long run. Also due to Dr. Q’s unique training and treatment I was able to climb after my first session with him and had significantly less pain in my finger.
