“Today, I went in to get my jewelry repaired. I’ve been putting it off for a bit so I had an earring to scrap and 4 pieces to get repaired: a bezel missing a screw and a loose coin, 2 rope chains with kinks, and the biggest repair: my bracelet needed a new lobster claw.

I first went to a jewelry repair shop in Barton Creek Mall that tried to charge me $800 for everything (including a $20 fee to test if my scrap gold was 14k…for those that don’t know that test costs pennies and takes seconds so that’s a major red flag). My family loves their gold jewelry so luckily I knew these prices were egregious.

Then I left disheartened and found myself at Kim Son Jewelry after some googling and it happened to be right down the street from me! It’s a family owned place and it feels homey—the vibes are great and it’s very comfortable. Here, I received fast and informative service with amazing prices. I was able to scrap my earring and broken claw AND get all of my jewelry repaired for a little over 1/4 of what the other place was trying to charge me. I didn’t feel the need to haggle because the prices were honest and the owner was very transparent, explaining everything to me. I appreciated the ease and speed of the experience, learning about Tael, and the affordability.

10/10 recommend and will absolutely be back in the future to buy or repair jewelry!”
