Update: to the owner of the gym, NO, THIS REVIEW WAS NOT FAKE!!!! This actually happened. The man I spoke with when I went up there was hispanic, short, chubby, & carried a shake with him everywhere he went but never drank any. He kept walking away, saying he'd be right back. I called in the morning & went in to sign up about 5:30 that same evening. When I called, I specifically asked about classes & was told there were several different classes I could attend, that were included in the membership. He never offered a tour, a free workout session, or anything else you mentioned. He kept flirting with the men who worked there & who came in to exercise. He told me the classes were in the beginning stages & there was only one instructor who had a very busy schedule so her classes were not consistent yet. The way you handled it says everything. You never addressed the situation. Instead you acted like a tiny man with a big ego.--None of the specials, classes, nor personal trainer details I was told about on the phone were true. I joined a different gym instead.

1 year at this gym and it has bettered my life in so many ways. From reaching new goals, learning new boundaries, and making amazing connections. The people who workout there are so friendly and supportive. 10/10 recommend to anyone at any age!

I cancelled my membership due to finding a better powerlifting gym and had the better stuff that was cheaper.This is more of a body builder gym. Paid the amount to get out of the contract. Now I’m looking at another notification from my bank telling me they set this huge amount to auto payment instead of a one time payment. When I called I was told that they would get back to me. Which I am pretty sure will be after the money withdrawals. I’m so angry.

Contagion Athletics has the space, equipment variety, and potential to be a top-tier gym, but it is falling short in several key areas. The equipment needs better upkeep, with torn and exposed pads on multiple machines and that do not run smoothly under heavier weight. The atmosphere has also become less professional, with kids playing around, pets being tied to benches, and even cars being revved inside, raising legitimate safety and air quality concerns. Long-term members are frustrated as well since constant specials bring in new crowds while loyal, full-price members face overcrowding. Even the restrooms are hit or miss, with hand dryers, soap dispensers, and sinks often not working consistently. With stronger management, stricter safety standards, and routine maintenance, this could be a fantastic gym again, but right now it needs real attention.

Unfortunately, I have to write a new review. Due to job changes I had to move back to Dallas and though I was told to sign a cancellation form and that my membership would be cancelled, instead I had been charged all the months since the move. Horrible experience, I’m now having to reach out to my bank to be the ones that can prevent reoccurrences of this. Really, really bad customer service and this is coming from someone who when I lived in Amarillo was literally their like everyday. Can’t recommend this gym anymore with service like this.

Lots of great equipment and friendly staff. Clean locker rooms. Lots of very cool cars in the parking lot as well! Nice vibe all the way around. A+++++++

I have recently started working out with Xavier. He is so knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Due to my age and fitness level, he has to be patient with me. He is patient yet challenges me. I really have already enjoyed my short time at Contagion and I just love Xavier!
