(Sorry so long, there's just too much to say!) This review is SO LONG OVERDUE! Suffice it to say, my experience with Electrolysis with April Campo has been truly life-changing! I started going to her around 2002. The 10+ years before that, I LITERALLY spent 45 minutes to an hour - DAILY - plucking the mass of hairs on my face. Having a hairy face as a woman had such an impact on my self-confidence. And it felt like it was a NEVER ENDING battle. After strictly following April's regimen of X # of treatments spaced out over time, I STILL remember the first time I let a boyfriend touch my face without repositioning his hands down to my waist. I honestly don’t remember how much emotional pain I had from the unwanted hairs. Electrolysis itself wasn’t nearly as painful as the shame and embarrassment I experienced. I don’t even remember exactly how long it took for all the combined treatments to fully work, but it didn’t matter. Every appointment was an investment into myself toward my ultimate goal of never owning a razor or tweezers! Either way, I can all the time and money I spent investing into myself has been worth EVERY PENNY! In fact, I became somewhat addicted to it, lol. In addition to having a hair free face, I now have zero upper lip hair, no happy trail, zero armpit hair and a hair free bikini line! And let me tell you, it’s AMAZING! It was only in the first couple of years I had appointments on a somewhat regular basis. I moved away from Dallas in 2010 and would find time for an appointment once a year or so when I was back in town visiting family. Last October (2019), I was in Dallas and went for a 1-hour touch up. At this point, it was the first I’d heard about April leaving Lucy Peters and then she told me about her amazing new electrolysis machine. Before the end of 2019, a lightbulb just went off inside me and I KNEW that I had to start a new career as a professional electrologist. And if I was going to do that, it seemed only natural I should get the same kind of machine, table, etc. as April, who I still consider the Master! I went off to California to be trained by the best of the best in early 2020 (before Corona) and now I’m finally in the process of officially launching my new business, Get Outta Hair. (If you’re ever in Boulder, CO, and need a touch-up, call me!) April, thank you thank you thank you!!! If I had had an electrolysis horror story (you hear all about them at school), I wouldn’t be doing this as my career now. It’s only because April is truly the BEST! If you’re in Dallas, don't be an idiot and trust someone else. Even if you have to drive over an hour, it’s worth it. Once your hairs are in the experienced hands of April, you’ll NEVER look back! And after knowing April nearly 20 years, she’s become a friend and I don’t ever remember her having one bad day, combined with so much professionalism and kindness. :)
