“I was diagnosed with Keratoconus two years ago, I thought the way I saw the world was the way everything looked and that eventually I was going to go blind.
For a long time, I struggled with blurry and distorted vision, horrible migraines, and eventually it got to the point where cars looked blurry and I wasn't able to drive confidently (plus I'm a horrible driver lol). I didn't realize how much my vision was affecting my everyday life until I finally understood what clear vision actually felt like.
The first time I saw clearly with my scleral lenses, it felt like a miracle.
I love, love, love being able to see. I love being able to see how handsome my husband is. I love seeing people's eyes and realizing how beautiful they are. I love that there are so many tiny details in this world that I never knew existed, the leaves on trees, the little cracks and crevices in wood, the textures, the colors, all the small things that make the world so beautiful.
It sounds silly, but sometimes I catch myself just looking at things because I actually CAN!! I feel amazed by things most people probably don't even notice.
I am so incredibly grateful for Kurtin Vision Specialists and Adela, and all the other amazing girls there! They helped me understand Keratoconus and he actually gave me 20/20 vision with my sclerals! He didn't just help me see better; he gave me back a part of my life and gave me hope when I didn't know how much I needed it. Now I can see, read, drive, work, and do so much!
I don't think I'll ever stop being amazed by the miracle of eyesight.”
