Scotty trained our 6 month old French bull dog and we enjoyed every minute of meeting up with him! Our dog is well trained and listens . It’s so nice to be able to walk outside with no leash and not worry about him running out to other dogs or people . Thanks so much Scotty !

To whom it may concern… I had been following Rocky Top K9 after meeting Sandra at a ski patrol event. I originally had a trained PTSD service dog that I rescued (wife of officer said “dog or divorce”). Long story short, she became our therapy dog for our ski patrol. After 8 1/2 amazing years, had to put her down due to bone cancer. 2 months later, I ended up with a puppy. Prior to getting my puppy, Hani, I reached out to Sandra with puppy questions on what to look for in a good puppy. She was super quick to respond and super informative. We kept messaging and she gladly answered any of my puppy questions. We talked about training and the things I needed to do with Hani so she would be ready when old enough. Once again, this was all on her own time, through the goodness in her heart. I am from Virginia and had researched local trainers, but got lots of mixed reviews. I made the decision to drive Hani to Tennessee for 3 weeks of training. I could not be any happier with the results! I dropped off a wild, energetic puppy who was probably too smart for her own good. I got back an amazing, attentive, eager to please and learn puppy! Throughout the whole process, both Sandra (who did the first 2 weeks of training) and Scottie (who did the final week of training) would send daily videos that would give me an idea of her progress along with tips on what they were doing. If I had questions about anything, both Sandra and Scottie would get back to me and answer any questions I had. The day I picked her up, Scottie spent almost 3 hours working with Hani and me. So much amazing info on what I needed to do/practice to continue her growth. Both Scottie and Sandra warned me that once I got her home, she would try to test her boundaries. They were correct. For any of you reading this, I would say that this is the hardest thing I had to go through. Please trust Rocky Top K9 and take advantage of their willingness to help when you feel like things aren’t going well. You see, it wasn’t her that had the issues…it was me. I was not following through correctly with both vocalization and using the e-collar correctly. After a few text messages and phone calls, (and practice) Hani and I started clicking. Just this weekend I was able to put her in a sit outside a store, had her wait while I quickly ran in to pick something up (she was in my field at vision the entire time). She just laid down and waited for me to come back. Also, since she will be trained to be a therapy dog, I took her to my gym today where they let me practice all that she has learned while ignoring all of the distractions. As I said, if something is going wrong, please take a look at what you are doing. The trainers at Rocky Top make it look so easy! Only negative thing I have to complain about is that they are in Tennessee and I am in Virginia. If I lived closer, I would be taking advantage of everything Rocky Top K9 has to offer. Thank you so much Rocky Top K9! Can’t wait to continue working with you all, even if it means a drive to Tennessee! Will also be keeping you posted on Hani’s growth and training! You all are amazing!
