I've been coming to Riverside Village Clinic for years and have always appreciated its neighborhood feel, its fluency in both conventional and holistic care, and the fact that it's queer-friendly. I went for my annual physical today and saw Anna for the first time. She is the loveliest! She really took her time with me, asked thoughtful questions, and was very thorough. She spoke to me like an actual human, which, unfortunately, can be rare in healthcare. I didn't feel rushed at all. She even recommended some natural supplements to support with my allergies, brain fog, etc. As for what other people are saying about Riverside no longer taking insurance... check out Knew Health cost sharing plan. It's what my wife and I use. Costs around $300 per month for the both of us. And they will reimburse you up to $250 per year for your annual physical, which is what Riverside currently charges!

Easily a 5-star clinic and healthcare experience when Jon was there and the clinic accepted insurance. I'm sure it's a nightmare dealing with large insurance companies as a small, standalone clinic and I'm also sure the current providers and staff still do a great job caring for patients but because of their leadership's profit-based decision making, this clinic is no longer accessible to me and many others in the East Nashville community. Such a shame considering the wonderful service they provide here in East. If they reversed course by accepting health insurance, I would absolutely go back.

I went here for years from its first opening but it’s no longer a reliable option in the Nashville area. Beyond the constant revolving door of practitioners, the constant needs for follow up appointments (this was my first time experiencing a doctor who will not prescribe refills for a daily med I have to take for the rest of my life) and the difficulties communicating, I actually had someone here actively lie to me on more than one occasion about communicating with my insurance company. Lied via email, lied in person when I came into the office to check on the status, and lied in the messaging system. Pretended to leave me a message and didn’t. I mean, just a completely unethical experience. Then I had to argue about getting my medical records to go elsewhere. I still don’t know if I have them all.
Not the RVC it used to be. In my experience, they no longer care about their patients, they care about money.

Practitioner Anna is absolutely amazing at what she does! I’ve had hives on and off for 5 years along with joint pain and other issues. I’ve been sick as a dog and absolutely miserable.
After one session and the supplements/meds she’s recommended I haven’t had hives for a month! She is very knowledgeable and this clinic is worth every penny.

Riverside Village Clinic has always felt like such a special place in the neighborhood—welcoming, progressive, and kind. That’s why it’s heartbreaking to say I can no longer come here.
When I learned a couple of months ago that Dr. Jon was leaving, I was already saddened. But to now hear that the clinic has gone cash-only, no insurance accepted, is devastating. This decision makes care completely inaccessible for most people, especially here in East Nashville—a community of creatives, families, and working people who rely on affordable healthcare.
I don’t know who thought this was a good idea, but it feels elitist and exclusionary. Many of us have been left scrambling to find new care, myself included. This shift gives the impression that profit is being valued over people, which is deeply disappointing for a clinic that once felt rooted in compassion and community.

i came here for a school physical a year or two ago and i always use their pharmacy for prescriptions. when i called about an appointment a few days ago the person i talked to abruptly told me that they don’t accept insurance ( i didn’t ask, and i always pay out of pocket) and they mocked me when we said goodbye. i had the call on speaker and my boyfriend looked over and said “did she just *mock* you?”. i work in hospitality and customer service, pretty insensitive to speak to someone that way when they are seeking health services. as a future nurse, i plan to do better and treat people with care. This was the greatest place and I was a nurse. Until I found out John was leaving with around 2 weeks notice. He said the clinic would provide refills until I found another doctor. The clinic actually told they were required to give me a 3 month refill on my medication. I got some of them but some very serious ones I cannot get them to call in the damn prescription. It's the same medicine I was receiving from the clinic. I have gotten rude replies. I flat out told them not to call and try to talk to me like they did my poor husband. They are just hateful and don't seem to know how to send medication refill to the pharmacy even though they have had sent requests months ago or they don't care. I have severe medical problems that are life threatening and I have been out of my meds since June. They just dumped us with no notification, won't fill out meds, are very hateful and uncaring. Someone told me they had refilled my medicine last month so I sent them screenshots from the pharmacy. I spend every week arguing and begging for my medicine. All they have to do is fill it. Wish they would, it's hell to be in severe medical health and suffer because someone wants to argue or lie. It seems like they don't want to because there is no money in it.

I loved this clinic until my wonderful provider John sent out a message saying that he would be leaving the clinic with less than 2 weeks notice and they would no longer be taking insurance. I asked him to refill my medication because I am on a lot and I have serious chronic illnesses. I have only gotten a refill for 1 or 2. I keep requesting it, the pharmacy request it also. I haven't had a lot of my meds since June. I have asked. I got a very rude and hateful phone call about getting a new provider. My wife and I are severely disabled with no income or transportation and that crappy healthcare marketplace insurance. We also had our insurance changed by mistake and we can't even look for a doctor until September 1st. I have diabetes, chronic pain, degenerate disc disease, arthritis, neuropathy, high blood pressure, high cholesterol. Extremely large hernia in my stomach. I started skipping meds and now I'm out and the only response I got today is when can you see another provider. They were so great and now it's just mean and incompetence.

Initial visit in February of 2024 for annual which was fine, then informed that the physician on staff left and that they can only send in a 90 day prescription so I need to rush to get another doctor which means another annual which I'm sure will not be covered in the same year as the first one. I suppose I could pay out of pocket for someone else there to handle my prescriptions but I'm not going to do that- no idea what is going on with this place and a shame it's so convenient in my neighborhood
