Bill with Carlson Home Inspection was very prompt in communication, scheduling the inspection date, and sending information/paperwork to review before inspection. This was my first home buying experience (unable to compare to any other inspection company) - I felt the home inspection report was very detailed and was received in a very timely manner. They followed all of the instructions that they provided in the 'contract' that was sent over to me for review. Very impressed! I called Bill about two times - 1st call was with questions regarding the report. Answered the questions very candidly. 2nd call - If they happened to have any recommendations on electricians/etc. in the area to assist with the findings in the inspection report. I must have caught Bill on a 'bad day'? He was very temperamental. I'm sure he receives that question all the time. He just needs a reminder that they are in the 'people' business. Positive/effective customer service is important - everyone has 'bad days', but learning to suppress those emotions goes a long way. I did pray for him as I know the reason for his response wasn't because of me. :-)

He was phenomenal. As a first time home buyer, he explained everything that I needed elaboration on (aka dumbed it down for us), and addressed any concerns I had. Of course he's going to "nit-pick", that's his job! And a good realtor will be able to understand and explain what's a big deal and what's not if you can't do it yourself. Also, what sealed the deal about him: I had ordered a radon test and he had already set it up in the crawlspace, but by the end of the inspection rundown we had decided with our realtor that we would not be moving forward with the purchase, and he asked if we still wanted the radon test.
