Please look for another program/organization!!! I can not stress enough How much this organization in the Donleson Area has failed to hold up their word, gives the run around... And seemingly allows people to attend workshops in hope for tuition assistance etc ONLY TO RESULT IN DENIAL and the list could go on. DO NOT CHOOSE WIOA

WARNING TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THE WIOA PROGRAM:This place gives you the run around/wastes your time and has been reported. The supervisor Betsy blamed me and implied I was lying about not following up with a case worker. When I showed her proof and even explained that I became homeless during the WIOA program SHE SHRUGGED and told me since I didn’t finish (or follow up?) That was a "big no no". Maybe her dye job has affected her brain cells because when I asked if I could have her managers contact info to verify and clarify that what was told to her is accurate (in all honestly) this woman gave me a non-active Google Voice number. When I told her I'd rather have the email instead: she gave me a mailer daemon. What is wrong with this place??? Worse than the DMV. And had the nerve to say that its my word against hers or that whatever happened 3 YRS ago doesn’t matter because it's "protocol" now.Jeremy (the wheelchair worker) looked me straight in my face last week and told me to come next Thursday to retest/ didn't put my name in the system/ after 2HRS (yesterday) he told me somebody would be coming to speak with me about my case didn't allude to why. After speaking with "Betsy" she told her manager (Renae Rosson) away from where I could witness whatever she saw was "Noted" regardless if it was the truth. I have been going through this since June 2019.The only helpful workers here that I literally feel genuinely want to help you are the workers in the Computer Lab, Cindy and Donna/Diana. Oh and the security guard outside the door. Other than that, everyone else seem like their job is too difficult and their social skills need reevaluation.

The employees of the unemployment office are telling people who is filing for their claims that the American Job Center/ WorkforceEssential can help them reset their accounts. It is wrong because we are a workforce and not the unemployment office. Also, the workers there are putting people on hold when they can't help them, then eventually hanging up on them. Very unprofessional. I think that a lot of the new hires are not trained properly.

The WOIA orientation not a fruitful endeavor. It sounds like getting the educational opportunity is an up hill battle. Problems with staff, funding, etc

I found this office both unhelpful and inappropriate. I have been waiting to receive my unemployment benefits for 12 weeks; in all of that time, I have not been able to speak with anyone associated with the TN Dept of Labor or TNJOBS4GOV who can a) provide basic information about why my claim is still under review, b) explain the Dept of Labor's review process, or c) answer questions about the work search process. For example, today I called with a question about international work searches - as a PhD looking for work in higher ed and publishing, there are many more job opportunities available to me out of state and abroad than within TN. The Job Center rep I spoke to could not tell me whether applications to international jobs counted as a work search. Nor could they be bothered to find out. This is ludicrous - their entire function is to help people with work searches and unemployment assistance. The representative I spoke to was rude and wholly lacking in empathy; she also had the gall to suggest that the entities deserving my sympathies during this "unprecedented time" are the state and the Department of Labor. So many people are suffering right now; I've got no tears to spare for bureaucracy.
