The staff of Asheville Highway Animal Hospital are so kind, so considerate, so compassionate. We wouldn’t want to take our fur babies anywhere else for veterinary care!

It seems as though no one here is on the same page or knows what is going on. The staff was cycling vacations during my visit, so in one week I talked to 3 different doctors. None of them gave me the same as any of the others. My cat had diabetes, he was going through ketoacidosis, the emergency vet was going to be expensive compared the to price I was given over the phone at Asheville hwy vet. The bill ended up being roughly 700$ more than I would've paid at the emergency vet. When I wanted to take him home saturday night so he wouldn't be alone all day sunday (they told me they have minimal staff and hours on Sunday) they said he wouldn't need insulin......... so dumb me trusted them and didn't take any home. I took him back in the morning Monday, they told me he needed a dose of insulin...imagine that... When I took him home Monday afternoon, they sent me home with a different insulin, I assumed they started him on something different after a glucose test day. I was wrong. I administered a dose Tuesday morning, he was sluggish, and started having seizures in the afternoon. He passed in my lap later that night. They had sent me home with the wrong insulin, and when I called the vet next day they said in passing they don't prescribe that brand of insulin to cats...Dr. Rick admitted I was given the wrong medication but refused to take any responsibility and it took what seemed like 2 hours for him to admit the insulin could have done it... He still refused to reimburse me any money out of the 1900$ saying we gave him a couple free potassium tests... like that was ok because my cat of 10 years just died from a shot I gave him...I will never go back unless it is to collect a debt owed. I will always tell my clients to stay away from them and I work in animal hospitality/training in the same area... I hope you stay away as well. Go to Magnolia animal clinic, small place but THE DR. knows her stuff. A better place to go is Crossings animal hospital, pricier but better service.

We would like the thank the staff at Ashville Highway animal hospital. We recently had taken our beloved dog Oreo in for treatment , and as we had suspected his health brought us to make the decision to put his pain before ours. Dr. Rick was straight forward and professional and assured me that I was doing the humane thing . I know this must not be easy for them either. Somehow the memories of happiness with Oreo help to overcome our sadness. Thank you again to the entire staff .

I love this practice. They were good to my mom and to her dog, including emergency care at the end of doggy's life. I brought in my little stray cat - they got us in fast, they are responsive, kind, friendly, no nonsense. Every person I have encountered is lovely.

I've been coming to Ashville Animal Hospital for about 13 yrs. They are an Awesome group of Vets & their Techs along with those working in the check in/check out are all Very Friendly,, Informative so willing to help in every way they can. I feel totally Safe & Trusting with them caring for my babies!! They also are the only ones I'd use if I need to board my girls.

I have been taking my animals to AHAH for over 20 years. The doctors are amazing! The front staff is very considerate of your fur baby's needs. I trust this vet explicitly with my animals. Their prices are a little high but that does not discourage me from taking my furbabies there. I would recommend anyone to take their animals here.

Walk in time during the week is not bad. About an hour to four hours. Staff is really sweet.
