After trying three or four HVAC companies over the years and being completely dissatisfied with them, we called Haskins to come and inspect our AC system. Our main concern was the high humidity in the home, even after encapsulating the crawlspace and installing a dehumidifier.Mind you, we had our heat pump inspected yearly (by these previous other companies), and were always charged a $60 - $100 "visit fee" and told the unit looked great. Had good service from these folks in the past, so we called them when our split-level went out, to do some warranty work. All of this was explained over the phone, prior to the visit, down to the make, model, and error code. Once the tech arrived, he did a cursory examination of the unit, then explained that Haskins doesn't service split-level units, even under warranty. He then charged us for the visit and left.We paid a hundred bucks for them to come out and do nothing. The explanation could have been handled over the phone, but then they wouldn't have been able to charge us.Bonus: The folks actually doing the work are charging *less* for the visit, and they're driving...read full review
