“They are simply the best!
I brought my 2-year-old Manx, Yena, in for her spay, and while they were in there, the vet found something no one else had caught. She'd been having bladder issues, and at first everyone thought it might be Manx syndrome. Turns out it was these little fetal membranes — things that are supposed to dissolve after birth but never did in her case — and they were pulling on her bladder and causing all her problems.
They took care of it right then and there during the spay. Didn't charge me extra. Didn't make a big deal out of it. Just fixed it because that's what was best for her.
That's how you know a vet actually cares about animals, not just the bill. They could have easily tacked on a separate charge for what they found, but they didn't. They just did the right thing.
This is also why spays are so, so important — if I hadn't brought her in for it, we never would have found what was really wrong with her.
I now drive two and a half hours each way for her vet visits, and honestly that's just fine with me. As long as she can keep going to Shallowford, I'll make the drive. You don't find vets like this every day.
