“I visited Blountville Family Eyecare (the name of Dr. Bowers' optometry practice) because my vision had changed and I needed a new pair of glasses. They were one of the few optometrist offices in the region who took my employer's insurance. I received appointment reminders via e-mail and text message, which were timely and appreciated. Dr. Bowers took time to explain to me the changes in my vision since my last eye exam. He answered all my questions fully, impressing me with his knowledge of all things ocular, and thoughtfully wrote down the name of the eye drops he recommended, to help me find them at the pharmacy. A knowledgeable associate was at my disposal to help me pick out my eyeglass frames and gave me his honest opinion about what flattered me. Finally, they offered to mail me my glasses because I had had to drive some distance to get there and adjusted the fit of the frames before I left. I've worn corrective lenses for more than twenty years and this was the BEST optometrist visit I've ever had. Thoughtful and attentive knowledge and service and I feel like I know more about my eye health now.“

“Everyone was very kind and helpful. I went in thinking I had macular degeneration, like my Mom. Dr. Gilliam examined my eyes using all the techy machines they had. He told me my eyes were fine-no macular degeneration! I was so relieved. I just needed a change in my glasses. Dalton helped me with an affordable, very nice pair that suited me. “Good thorough work up. Nice facility and great staff. Communication with doctor needs some improvement. My last appointment was for a general exam to get my new prescription. The doctor thought it was a followup to an emergency the month before, which they handled expertly and graciously as it was 4:30 on a Friday afternoon.“

The doctor noticed there was a problem and Mountain Empire eye physicians had us in in 30 minutes. We were seen within 15 minutes of arriving!!
