“A family emergency brought me to Rapid City. My elderly father with late stage dementia had fallen and was in the hospital. I was informed there were no openings at nursing homes and I would need to care for my father at his home. Without Cornerstone I would never have been able to manage that.I met with Karen to assess our needs in our home. Her knowledge of resources I may need and guidance on how to take care of an Alzheimer’s patient was desperately needed by my mother and I. But more than that, her promise to have staff available for whatever hours I needed, once my father was discharged from the hospital, was so very comforting during such a stress time. She understands what families go through and she was such a calming force in our lives. It is hard to briefly summarize just how incredible the two care givers Karen provided for us were. Crystal and Ashley were unbelievable. They were readily available when we needed to adjust the schedule on a minutes notice. “Can you stay an hour longer today?” “Can you please come in early tomorrow?” They were timely, caring, funny, sympathetic, resourceful; But most of all an incredible support system for my mother and I. When you have strangers in your home looking after your loved ones, yes you worry about their ability to care for your loved one, but what we might not think about is how the caregivers take care of us. It was so wonderful to laugh and share family stories with Crystal. We learned to work as a team assisting my father. She notice how my mother needed assisted also and stepped right up to plate. And the donuts she brought for my father turned out to be a hit! When the nighttime caregiver, Ashley first walk through the front door, I immediately felt assured by her incredible smile. She just radiates confidence and a positive peaceful aura. It may sound strange, but once you meet Ashley you know this young lady is an old soul whose kindness and caring manner are rare in a young person today. I can not thank her enough for allowing me to get a peaceful nights rest, knowing my father was in the most capable of hands! These two ladies were beyond what anyone expects from home health care. I am so grateful for both of them. Thank you Karen for fulfilling your promise and making our lives so much more manageable.I am back in Alabama now with my parents and yes I am using Cornerstone in this State too!“

“The admin and office staff have gone above and beyond to help me find a suitable caregiver for my husband, and even going so far as to help me find resources to help other relatives in need in other parts of the country.The initial caregiver assigned ticked all of my boxes and then some. She had an extremely wide range of skills and interests, and proved to be an invaluable resource on all sorts of helpful local area services. In addition, she accompanied us on a 24/7 basis when we needed to travel, helping out with driving, and with housekeeping at the other end of journey. She was outstanding at anticipating many of my diverse needs before I even had a chance to articulate them, providing much needed help in the culinary, housekeeping, and caretaking arenas. In addition, she had a wide range of skills that suited my husband's interests to a tee, including billiards, gardening, and fishing.“
