I grew up going to a different studio and they were kind enough to let me keep my rank and then to let me learn their skills to potentially keep my rank and overall they are nice people but sadly we did not have a good experience. I started by having my son join and he had a good time but as someone who was also a karate teacher for 5 years I did not agree with how they taught. My son is 4 and they gave him a tape/ testing strip for something, I don't even know what for because he didn't know how to do anything. He couldn't remember the ninja creed he wasn't doing the get ready, get set leave me alone block/punch combo properly and the 2 kicks they were telling him to do he was given no instruction on how to do it and would just flail his legs about. I think they gave him the testing strip in hopes to appeasing the parent and I'm not okay with that, he should get it because he earned it. Like I said I taught for 5 years, 4 year Olds are capable of learning this you just have to put in the effort. As for me, like I said I came from a different studio and after my 3 or 4th class I felt very disrespected, I don't think bit was intention but it still happened. I showed Mr. Buckingham my blackbelt certificate and it's one of the original styles of taikwondo and he told me well I have never herd of that one before it sounds silly and made up. He also made fun of my form names, and while I was trying to learn their forms I was doing a loose chamber with my fish because I was struggling to remember the next move, it was only my 2nd class at that point and he made the comment of "I thought you said you were a black belt before." Between how I was treated and how my son wasn't being taught anything we didn't even finish our trial and we won't be going back. I'm sure they are very kind people this was just jot the place for me and my family.

I am very thankful for the Buckingham’s knowledge of self defense. Our whole family goes and does this together. My kids love it and are gaining more and more confidence in their skills.

Both my son and daughter started karate last year when they were 4 and 7. Their favorite parts have been learning new skills, growing stronger, and learning how to use Ssahng Jeol Bongs.

My son LOVES going to taekwando with Mr. and Mrs. B. Not only do they do a great job at this, they also teach respect, integrity, and so much more. I would definitely recommend going here

My daughter has been attending classes here for about a year and she loves it. The principles they teach and instill in the kids are invaluable. Mr and Mrs Buckingham really strive to teach the kids karate but also discipline. I highly recommend giving them a try.

My son has been in a Karate class here for over a year. I have seen an amazing change in him since, he has always been well behaved but his confidence has grown substantially. The teachers Mr. and Mrs. Buckingham give the class both a profession feel with a family aspect that I don’t believe could be achieved by another Martial Arts environment. They have always been so great with the kids, both kind and continuously teaching discipline. Along with preparing my son for more advanced classes they have encouraged positive growth in other parts of his life as well. Including reading, vocabulary, confidence, memorization, self control, respect along with so much more. This five stars is an easy five stars to give. I am so happy we have chosen ATA and will start our daughter as soon as she is ready.

He was really worried about making new friends and losing the sports he was involved in at our last base. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Our daughter loves Mr. and Mrs. B! They display exceptional skill in balancing discipline and fun, creating an engaging environment. The focus on character development alongside physical training is commendable. My daughter has not only improved her martial arts techniques but also gained valuable life skills. The supportive and encouraging atmosphere makes this class an outstanding choice for young learners.
