On July 22nd, my husband and I were in Aruba on vacation & our son noticed that our 5 yo American Bulldog, Stoli, appeared to be bloated. He drove Stoli immediately to this location. The Dr agreed to FaceTime us on WhatsApp from my son's phone & explained to us how after giving him an x ray, the result showed a GDV and he needed Gastric Torsion surgery immediately or he would die. She explained that they needed a deposit of a very large amount (enough to cover the surgery and more) before they could proceed and there was no guarantee of the outcome. My 9 pound dog got into something he shouldn’t have and had too spend the night. Required ex rays, blood work, IV fluids and meds. Sent me home with more meds. Fixed dose of liquid meds were premeasured in syringes. The staff were excellent. Very kind and caring, yet fully professional. Dr Derrick Phillips explained everything kindly in words I could understand. The place was spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend if your pet needs emergency services.
My dog had been sick for about a week or two. I took him to a regular vet and they assumed he had eaten something bad. Over the next few days he steadily got worse, and around 9pm one night I decided I couldn't let him suffer any longer, no matter the price. I was prepared for the worst monetarily speaking. You think an ER Vet would run your bank account dry. The exam itself was $195. We got a blood test done as well, which wasn't as bad as you'd think.
