I’ve been a patient at MUSC Clemson Road for several years, and I wanted to leave an honest review while remaining anonymous because I don’t want there to be any negative repercussions.
The front office staff has always been respectful and professional. I especially want to recognize Miss Caroline, who is newer to the office, and Miss Denise, who has been there for quite some time. Both have consistently been kind, welcoming, and helpful. They deserve recognition for how they treat patients.
My only concern has been the wait times to see the doctor. There have been multiple occasions where the front desk had patients checked in and did everything they were supposed to do, but the doctor was running significantly behind. I’ve personally witnessed patients become frustrated and even consider leaving because of how long the wait was.
Another concern is the new iPads that require patients to answer numerous questions before their appointments. While I understand the purpose, it adds extra time to the check-in process for both patients and the front office staff. For many people, it’s already difficult just to make it to a doctor’s appointment, and having to complete additional tasks at check-in can feel overwhelming and contribute to longer wait times.

I would not recommend Dr. Rhoe to anyone seeking a reliable and compassionate primary care physician. In my experience, she has demonstrated a concerning lack of professionalism and care. On June 9, 2025, I had my first visit with Dr. Rhoe. While I left feeling uncertain about the appointment, I gave her the benefit of the doubt since she ordered both a mammogram and a bone density test. However, after receiving a notification that my mammogram results were abnormal and a follow-up exam was required, I was never contacted by her office. I had to read and interpret my own results and take the initiative to call and schedule my own follow-up. Even more troubling, I received the second set of results three weeks ago, and there has still been no communication from Dr. Rhoe or her office. What kind of medical professional ignores potentially serious test results? How does MUSC continue to employ someone who consistently disregards their patients’ wellbeing? Dr. Rhoe, you should be ashamed of your lack of concern, and it's unfortunate that your staff is left to make excuses for your behavior.

Anyone who needs a primary care physician I would not suggest Dr. Rhoe. She’s unprofessional and quick to “ I’m not going to see a patient mindset” I only seen her one time and the second visit she cancelled because she stated I was making demands when I never spoke with her. Apparently a patient requesting documentation is a demand versus a request . Out of all my providers I never had to experience a doctor with childish, malicious antics.

The doctors have been fine but this office is way too hot. Thermostat was set to 76, should be a lot cooler.

In the past seven days l have been to this office a total of three times. Today was the third day. I walk in and the lady at the front desk with the locs asks me if I have an appointment for the third time in seven days. For the third time in the past seven days, I say no. I say I’ve been here quite a few times in the past few days and I’m here again because no one is responding to me. She says she sees hundreds of people every day and doesn’t remember me. I look at her and smirk and shake my head.I’ve worked in a medical office. (I think to myself, how could she say that if I’ve been here almost every other day? Is she being serious, sarcastic, or just rude?) l recognized when a patient kept coming in. Why? Because it was part of my job to make sure patients get what they need. I saw hundreds of patients myself on a daily basis too, but I’m not going to totally blow off someone l keep seeing showing up to the office asking for the same thing over and over again. I write my name, DOB, and what l need for the third time in seven days on a sticky note provided by the same person who greeted me each time I walked through the door. Finally, after coming to the office, (three times in seven days) l receive what l needed.I’m saying all of this to say, not only did l leave a message on the patient portal on March 5th that never got answered (l will post the message), I also had to come into the office three times in seven days for the exact same thing, only to feel completely ignored and also undervalued and belittled by the front desk staff. This isn’t my first issue with this office. I’ve written in a complaint before and also spoke with my provider about it. The only reason I keep putting up with this office is because I really love my provider. She’s the best Doc I’ve ever had and I don’t want to find another.Just because you’re not the medical assistant to a provider doesn’t mean you’re not responsible for the patients that you greet up front… especially if the same patient keeps showing up repeatedly with the same issue that’s yet to be resolved. It’s terribly frustrating to keep making trips to my providers office when this could’ve / should’ve been dealt with seven days ago in the patient portal. All l needed was a simple lab order. I would’ve printed it off myself, but because I received no response, here we are a whole seven days later.

This is the worst experience I have every had. The front desk are the very rude. During covid I picked up weight and was giving a medication that nearly cost me to loose my mind, I think though them I was having panic attacks and the nurse said she would not give anything because she did not know me from Jack and I could be using drugs to get get and there is no way to drug test me and she would not loose her license for someone she just met So she pretty accused me of being a drug addict. I am assuming it;s because I am black.

NP Goodson is very attentive when it comes to my concerns. I’ve had a few health scares in the past, and he has always reassured me that things would be ok as long as I did my part. I love the staff members as well.
