I stayed here to attend a conference and it was a great experience. Rooms and conference facilities are top notch and all the staff were helpful. They also have the largest, most equipped hotel gym I've ever seen. Definitely recommend it for a conference, special event, or vacation!

This hotel surprised me in the best way.
I had read enough mixed things beforehand that I went in with pretty average expectations. But for what we had, the experience was honestly flawless. We stayed over Christmas in a suite, and it was so much more beautiful than I expected. This is obviously a corporate Marriott property, but our room didn’t feel corporate in that dead, copy-paste way at all. It felt like someone had actually cared!!
The Christmas setup was what really made it. The tree in the room had real decoration that looked like someone had actually done it by hand, not just tossed in some generic holiday package. The whole room was decorated with (electronic of course) candles and it looked SO cozy – I expected something WAY more generic! We even had another tree on our own terrace, which was huge by the way, with an outstanding harbor view.
Service was also great across the board, including valet. Overall, for this category, I’d absolutely give it 5 stars.
Important caveat though: I can only speak for the exact experience we had. I can imagine a more standard room without the Christmas setup feeling much less special, so I wouldn’t automatically assume every stay here feels the same.
The gym is also a highlight, I had much worse ones in 5 star hotels: I had expected something sparse because I couldn’t even really find proper photos of it beforehand, but they actually have several machines, enough that you can basically do everything you’d want while most more expensive hotels only have maybe 2-3. The pool is also great, didn’t use it though.
And the location couldn’t be better.
Useful version: if you get a suite here, especially during the holidays, this place can be way better than its reputation suggests. Quiet, even romantic (and that for a corporate Marriott!). Will be very different in summer, but we loved it.

Great location. Rooms have good upkeep and staff is friendly and effective. Rooms have huge TVs which made family movie night fun (you have to sign in with your Netflix profile). The hotel breakfast is the downside. Expensive and bland.

Made us pay $35 fee which is stupid. But, they did give us 20 dollars in credit. The thing with this credit is that the only place you could use it was the hotel restaurant. The restaurant was never open and we weren't able to use the points because they were always closed. Not to mention the rude staff, dirty rooms, and horrible view. Do not go here. Save your money and find a different hotel.

The staff is horrible cuz even if your a guest you better not sit in the lobby & charge your phone cuz the Staff will harass you especially if your not dressed up. I've been a guest at Marriott'$ in Massachusetts,New Jersey & New York. This is the worst Marriott I've ever stepped inside of hand down. Don't ever go to this Marriott. If anybody else has bad experiences share them. Let'$ get this Marriot shut down.

Not cheap, but the room with the propane fireplace facing the marina was so nice. Not a lot of barrier between the ones on either side, so depending on your neighbors, you could make new friends or enemies. Lucky for us it was off-season and we had no neighbors almost the entire time.
More importantly, the staff across almost the whole property was wonderful. Front desk was a little meh, but they probably deal with the most crazies. The bartenders, Henry and another woman about his age were fantastic even when busy, the housekeeping staff did a great job on our room every single day, and even the valet staff were friendly and courteous. Location is superb. All around top notch.

Room was great Coffee shop service was a horrible experience. I brought my grandson downstairs and eat. I saw they had fruit cups so I grabbed one a cranberry muffin and ordered a latte. I started to order chocolate milk and I started to say I need the milk warmed That’s when the older man interrupted me and said we don’t have chocolate milk you’ll have to buy it in the lobby. So I walked over to the lobby while my coffee was being made they did not sell it there. I walked back to the coffee shop the older man was gone and the younger man was there so I asked him please warm some milk and put a couple of shots of chocolate in it for warm chocolate. The younger man obliged that’s when the older man came in and he said they didn’t have chocolate milk over there? The younger man told him no they didn’t sell it in the lobby, the older man abruptly interrupted him and said I didn’t say lobby I said the restaurant. While the younger man was finishing up the chocolate milk he handed it to the older man who Cashed me out . As I grab the chocolate milk it started to spill on me, the older man said oh I must not have put it on the right way. So I attempted to snap the lid on and it spilled everywhere on my sweater on the counter on the floor. I then looked at the old man and said please give me a refund. He then told me don’t blame me if you’re having a bad day! And we don’t give refunds! I then said let me speak to a manager, he still was talking back and rudely saying I already told you lady we don’t give a refunds and don’t blame me if you’re having a bad day! Someone else came up and asked if I needed help and I said yes I need to see the manager please. The woman manager came up and she said how can I help you and I told her what was happening and what the older gentleman was saying and she put her hand up, and stated I’m gonna stop you right there this gentleman is the nicest man we know. So I just looked at her and said please give me a refund. She said OK handed me a receipt, I thought everything was OK until I looked at the receipt in the elevator. It was not a receipt of a refund but of another order from someone else earlier I think. So the manager lied to me and she was just as rude as the old man who she had to quiet down and asked to be quiet and walk away because he would not stop with his rude comments. I have the incident on film because at the time I was calling my husband as I was crying on how horrible I was treated and talked to by this old man. You need to do better Marriott you need to do much better on these employees you have working for you in Newport Rhode Island. A manager should never take sides unless she hears the whole story which she did not because she held up her hand at me and told me that I cannot say another word. The other employees were there they know what happened and I’ve got it on film. I’m ashamed to be a rewards member for as long as I have. I can tell you that we will no longer be staying at any Marriott anywhere. This is unacceptable behavior and should never never have happened. I hated the fact that they made me cry in front of my grandson I’ve never been so humiliated I’m not confrontational I’m not a screamer, but my emotions took over and I cried. I still had to go to a graduation ceremony As my SIL became an Officer in the US Navy!!! Shame on you Marriott for turning a beautiful Celebration into a traumatic Day! There is so much more in the video that the Manager was saying….especially trying to cover for the old man’s behavior. Shame on her!
