From my first yoga class with Ellen Schaeffer 20 years ago I knew she was a master. Ellen has studied with some of the world's best yoga teachers and has dedicated her life to teaching the heart of yoga in a way that can be transformative. Over the past 24 years Ellen has built an outstanding yoga studio with top quality teachers. Rhode Island is fortunate to have a studio of such quality.

The teachers at Yoga One vary, but I take away something from each one, both spiritually and physically. I have severe osteoarthritis, which had limited my mobility. I had trouble with my neck, tingling pains in my hands, and restricted movement in my wrists and hips.After a year of regular classes at One Yoga Center, that has completely changed : I have good, fluid movement in my neck and wrists. I am much stronger, and my improved core strength and balance have allowed me to do things I haven't tried in years. And no more physical therapy - this is my PT!

I have been going to Yoga One for almost 10 years, and I still learn something new every week. Ellen and her teachers are amazing. It works on so many levels. I started out just interested in the physical aspect and I have become much more flexible and strong. Later I also became interested in the philosophical part of yoga and I learned about that from Ellen too. I think what I really love about the studio is that they help you take care of both your mind and your body. It meets the different needs of everyone.
