I visited Mike because I had a buzz in my violin sound. He not only eliminated the buzz, but made the violin much easier to play by putting the strings closer to the fingerboard. All this, and some free advice too, with NO CHARGE. Thank you Mike!
I had a wonderful experience with Mike Lyons. I’d been using my student cello for years and it was in rough shape. I first brought it to another luthier who told me repairing it was useless and would cost thousands. I figured it was time to upgrade my instrument anyway. I gave Mike a call and told him I was shopping around, so we made an appointment. He told me to bring in my old cello anyway and he’d see if there was anything he could do. I ended up buying a beautiful cello at a GREAT price. And he even made some adjustments on my old one for free. He shaved down the bridge to make it playable again, and adjusted the sound post to make it sing again.
